I have been pondering doing a custom 14b setup on my '99 GS the past few days. I sold my '90 GST, so I would like to do this while I have the money.
I don't remember the cfm on the 14b vs Hahn's 16g, but wouldn't it take more boost on the 14b to equal 8 psi on the 16g? I know a guy that has an 8 psi w/g for a 14b, and I was thinking about getting it from him.
Also, is that guy still on here that used his stock manifold to attach the 14b. I know it's kinda getto (no offense), but if it works then that would be another $200 to spend on injectors, afpr, or so.
I have an extra 2g sidemount laying around, and can do the intercooler piping. I know a dude that has a great 14b at a good price, and I thought that I could use my friend's extra o2 housing and downpipe that he aint using. I know that I will have to modify the d/p, but I have a mig and everything.
I have put on Hahn kits before, and rebuilt my 4g63 by myself, so I'm pretty confident that I can do this. I have a digital camera now to, so hopefully I could take pics and do some kind of 'Budget Build Tutorial' or something. Anyways, any suggestions or input is appreciated!

Attaching a 14b to a stock manifold is possible, but ghetto and a bitch. I would suggest building your own manifold to save some coin.
You are also going to have to clock the 14b so that oil drains the right way.
But to answer your question, you are going to have to mod your wastegate to achieve 8psi. Look up GSgoinfast's write up on this site. It will help you out with your build.

I had a 8 psi w/g on my old 14b because it came off of a vr4 galant. I was just gonna get it off the guy i sold it to, and give him a 12 psi w/g. I think that I will end up making my manifold b/c I actually got to look at the stock one and there is no way I'm gonna try it. I thought that the manifold was higher placed that it was, but I was wrong.
I have clocked a few turbos so that shouldn't be anything new. Thanks for the replies!

I am running 16 to 20psi on mine, obviously at 18 its about max in terms of efficiency, however mine spikes to about 25psi. They don't last very long either (used crap i bought), i would recommend just getting a decent turbo and go from there.
