anyone know of a good inline pump that will equal the flow and pressure ratings of the HRC pump that is QUIET!!!! I spent all this time and Money on a Bad ass stereo system and now i have to listen to this damn hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm along with my music!@#$((&)?
I was looking at the venom pumps, are they any good and quiet?

Not an inline pump, but I've heard teh Supra TT pump fits and flows ridiculous amounts of fuel. (MUCH more than the Walbro even) The only thing is, you might even have your hands full trimming out all the extra gas.

What is your current wires etup on the HRC fuel pump?

hey james, dame dude i finally got my fuel pressure stable with the hrc fpr, and got my fuel pressure to hit 85psi at 6psi of boost oh mu GOSH that dame fuel pump is so same loud now...i get a headache driving now i cant stand it!

Wire setup? you mean gauge? well i have 10 gauge monster cable going to it from the battery and then 10 gauge going to ground

Yeah that sounds like plenty. ;) I am just trying to investigate a theory Jason got me thinking about some time ago about voltage affecting the noise level. Generally there would be a voltage drop as fuel pressure increases which can change the tonation of the pump. I guess I need to play with the wiring on mine to see if it makes a difference. Since I have gone with 625's I can say it is much quieter as I never see more than 65psi of fuel pressure these days, and that is at full boost.

hmmmm, it appears that as my fuel pressure gets lower the sound gets louder. like when i am adjusting the idle pressure if i go down the fuel pump gets freaking loud and when i go up it quiets down alot, like at 75-80 psi i can berely hear it. ONE MORE QUESTION. If I was to get like 370CC/min injectors from RC and put them in my car how low of a fuel pressure could I run. I have a 95 eclipse with the regulator on the fuel rail. I was thinking if it would be possible to do away with the boost dependant FPR alltogether I have an S-AFC also.

I said it backwards. Sorry. It is louder at idle after hard runs and and low fuel. From what I understand the fuel helps to cool the pump. I still wonder if voltage matters in heating the pump up. I could be talking complete bollocks about it right now. I really need to play with my car this weekend when I get home.

Has anyone tried putting some Dynamat detween the pump and the frame> Tehy have the type that goes under the carpet that is pretty thick. This should help out some.

Jamesman...hold on for a week or so and I'll have a some VFAQs all about picking injectors, modifying the 1995 FPR, and picking fuel pressures. I would still suggest using an adjustable FPR (with calibration disks).

Some are louder than others. Mine, like James is loud as hell. By reading this post I don’t think anyone has an idea about any other fuel pumps to replace the HRC one.

Would this work.

Get bigger injectors, 440cc
Get a better FPR, something like the Vortech one.
Get an s-afc
Get a high power gs-t fuel pump, like the one Holley makes

If your running bigger injectors you don't need to worry about creating the same high psi in fuel pressure, Right? I think I saw a post that Corbin had like 28 psi an idle. Corbin, what is your psi at WOT and what is your max boost?

Does anyone think that the above idea would work. Not only would you be getting rid of the hrc inline but you would be better prepared for higher boost when the time comes.

Like I said in the previous post, I'm making a VFAQ that will explain all you need to know about injectors and fuel pressure.

If I recall correctly, I get 26 psi at idle...AFC is around -40%. I don't have my notes on me, but I have a 1.5/2:1 disk and get forty something psi fuel at 6 psi boost (AFC is still leaning things out by several percent there). My S-AFC is also set up to adjust fuel according to manifold pressure. Sorry I can't provide any good numbers, but I don't have my notes on me. I'll detail everything along with my personal setup on the VFAQ coming soon.

Eventually, I'll start running higher boost. The fuel system is ready for the extra power, but I don't think my engine and tranny are. Thats what I'm waiting on (when I get some $$$).

Haha I got an airtex inline and it used to be loud for me. But You get used it after a while trust me. If your system can't drown out the sound it's not good enough. Your just thinking about it too much, or maybe you just drive at night all the time. :P

My system is plenty powerful, 3 amps, 1250 watts 24 speakers. i like my stereo, i like my turbo, i am not going to compromise my stereo because a stupid loud fuel pump, i know there is a way to fix it, and i am going to find out what it is.
