After headers pulley's etc I felt the power just wasn't enough, so after doing my fair share of research I have started my turbo build and this is what I've bought so far.

Custom Manifold
GARRETT T25 turbo internal wastegate(from a 300zx)
Ati Fmu (from a procharger kit) will this work?
Walbro 255 fuel pump
Fuel pressure gauge
CI Feed/return kit( anyone know a return kit for cheaper then $60?)
1g Bov
manual boost controller
Ractive boost gauge
FCD

Will this work? am I missing anything except piping/clamps...I just want to be sure.how much will it be for a shop to fab up some piping? Do I need to run a intercooler?

I'm only going to boost 5lbs on my 127k engine and I will have it compression tested and checked out before the install.

well for 5 lbs you don't necessarily need an intercooler, but if you want to run more you should. I'm not sure about the FMU. The oil return kit, I'm not sure how much the fittings cost, but I imagine the kit that hahn sells is cheaper than 60 dollars, but I'm not sure if you'd need different fittings for the t25.

Do you know what kind of disk is in your FMU? 12:1 would be the kind you would want for stock injectors.

About the return kit, I would say just pay up for it. I tried to kinda skimp out and make it cheap, but now I am finding it is slightly leaking and that is annoying. I am currently going to get a kit off eBay with stainless steel lines and all that good stuff. My advice to you would be to do the same, oil leaks are a pain.

kinda what i didnt want to hear but already knew :p Fmu is in the process of being shipped so I couldnt tell you atm...I'm seeing you have a rs-t :) could you give me a few tips and lmk what you did for piping? pics would help and thanks for the replies!

I used a 2.25" intercooler piping kit from ebay and had it tig welded together (though it came with enough couplers and clamps to install it without any welding)and had the BOV flange welded on as well. The kits come with all sorts bends so you can make it work VERY easily if you dont go with an intercooler(I recommend one even with 5psi to help avoid any detonation problems).

The biggest section to do properly is the fuel system. Screw that up and you'll kill that motor quickly. With stock injectors you need the walbro 255lph HIGH PRESSURE version, model #GSS342 and a 12:1FMU. The standared 255lph pump cant reach high enough fuel pressures (while still maintaining the proper amount of volume) if you ever decide to go above 5psi. IF you find out that your FMU is less than 12:1, you can either get larger injectors to work with it, or get a 12:1 FMU. Personally, I suggest the proper sized larger injectors.

Yeah im running the high pressure pump.. I emailed the guy I bought fmu from about that info, I've been looking at the IC piping and wondering I guess I'll give it a shot I'll look for a small SMIC I want to avoid any and all trouble :)

Yes you can install them beforehand. You can get a stock 2G smic for around $30 on ebay or from local 2Gr's. Its a good fit if you have a 5 speed but it would need to be mounted at a 45 degree angle if you have an automatic so the IC piping can clear the tranny.

Unless you already have the pipes, spend a little more and buy a universal piping kit that comes with a FMIC. Sure it's alittle more, but not that much..Especially now. Not to mention it makes the car just a tad sexier.

Decent return kit? think all thats left is 10an flange for the turbo itself and what Fmic setup do you prefer for the budget build? ebay ones any good?

You shouldn't need 3 ft of the stainless hose. I read you can do it with about 1.5-2 ft of it. Maybe save some money there.

I bought an eBay FMIC with piping and couplers kit and it has worked very well so far. I am happy with it. Costed about 210 shipped and came within a weeks or so. I've posted pics of my FMIC piping routing somewhere on here within the last couples weeks or so, so you could check it out for ideas.

Summit doesnt carry less than 3' of hose. He would either have to source parts from more than one vendor, go to another vendor altogether, or get what he needs from summit minus the hose and find somebody on here who's got a section that they would sell him.

Before reading your post I was oddly enough looking at the same seller for a FMIC, also searched your old posts and that intercooler setup looks nice :)

You won't find one too small for a 5 psi setup.. Only question is if that one will fill up the opening in the front of the bumper. It looks like it's probably about 5.5" or 6" so it should barely be enough. If not, it will just be a tad, most likely hardly noticable. For the price, I say go for it!

If you want to hurt the performance of that dinky T25....get a FMIC. That turbo is WAYYY too small to need any sized FMIC. There is a reason NO ONE ever suggests using a FMIC with a stock 2G T25 turbo. Its been dyno proven multiple times to hurt performance over the SMIC.

Get yourself a 2G SMIC and a universal 2"-2.25" intercooler piping kit and thats all you'll ever need. The stock 2G SMIC can still be efficient up to nearly 350hp so its perfect for your goals.
