I have a question about nitrous oxide? I have rebuilt my engine about 6 times (typical huh?) The last time that i rebuilt it i decided to get a direct port wet nitrous setup. the three sets of jets that i got with the kit were 120 160 and 200 shot. i tried to spray the 160 shot and it flew in third and fourth and i was happy till i blew my plugs apart and melted the head between #1 cyl and three coolant jackets. i was wondering if i redo the head(weld it and resurface it) would the dents in the pistons be a huge concern. I have 12:1 Forged pistons, eagle rods,ported head,stainless valves,pt lifters,ported intake,nitrous cams, msd dis 2, 4-2-1, catback,injen cai, etc... this is my first post and i AM a newbi. Just looking for advice and 450hp. thanks

6 times is not "typical". Your doing something wrong.

If you cant get it right for 12:1 and your "built" motor with nitrous then I doubt you have the tunning knowledge to attain 450hp.

Since you have the money, take it to a shop.

Ok so 1 engine blew due to ingesting water durring a rain storm,1 blew due to a thrown rod, 2 blown headgaskets, 1 was due to an incorrect piston from the supplier who i called the manufacture and they reassured me that it was the correct piston (not my fault)Had engine bored to 88mm, and this last little mishap with the nitrous and the plugs.

P.S. I am looking for advice other than taking it somewhere cause there are no GOOD local shops that want to mess with it and i cant afford a longblock at this time.

Well for a newbie, i would start by getting 200-300whp first and then move up. Turbo's have trouble getting 400whp so it definetly will not be an easy task. You have a nice setup, but i think it will take time and good tuning.
