Well we have most decided as of late that the treadstone manifold is basically a replica of the STAR without the name stamp. Well I was looking at this other manifold of a similar cast design, and just curious for opinions since I haven't found anything about it as of yet.

I emailed the mad tight jdm company to ask about a 1yr/lifetime warranty against cracking, warping, etc...we'll see what they say hehe.

I bought my FMIC from autosquare on eBay, but I don't know if I could trust the quality of a manifold. It's not too expensive though so I say give it a try and let everyone know if it's any good. If it is, I may be in the market for one for them for that price haha.

Did you buy it? Says someone bought it on that link. It sure as hell looks thick enough, but you can't see the welds in the pictures they give you. If you were the one that bought it let us know how it turns out. They at least have a 98.8% positive feedback rating, that's pretty good... let's hope you aren't the 1 out of 100.

It's a cast piece so it shouldn't have any welds on it. Just don't know how well the casting process was done on it.

You bought the one listed above? Let us know how it turns out because if it is a good manifold, I'll put my Hahn manifold on ebay or sell it here and get that one to save some money!

It looks identical to my Treadstone mani. I don't see how it could really be worse...

I'm interested to hear how it turns out..

Any follow up? Im about to purchase a treadstone manifold unless this is of equivalent quality. Treadstone's auctions say they arent, but would like to hear from someone unbiased.

I just put mine on last night. My friend has a Treadstone manifold so I saw firsthand if they differ. Overall, very, very similar to each other. Fitment was good on it, but the two middle bottom bolt holes needs studs put into the head because there is no way to fit a stud bolt in between the flange and the manifold. That was the same with the Treadstone though as I installed it on my friend's car (he had all new studs put into his head). Not sure if the Star manifold has the same issues. I need to run to the hardware store today to pick up some new bolts to bolt up the turbo to the manifold though. I really don't have time to post up pics right now, but I did post them on DSMTuners in a thread I made because they allow me to upload directly onto their server. You might have to be a member to view them though, not sure. It is located in the 420a Turbo section.

My overall opinion, worth the 100 bucks or so you save off of a Treadstone Manifold. I actually got mine for 183 shipped because I didn't use the Buy It Now feature, so that saved me an extra 10 bucks. I'll be back later today to probably post up some pics and more info about it.

Is the treadstone really beefier than the knock-off like treadstone ebay ad says it is?

Im hanging an HX40 on it, so a very large, heavy turbo on it. I dont mind paying the extra $100 if the treadstone is a better manifold.

And by better, I mean heavier and less likely to crack with a larger turbo hanging from it.

IMO, they are exactly the same. We didn't have his manifold off his car so I could compare weights, but this one is by no means "light".
