Running your engine lean is deffinately something to worry about.

The biggest problem in your scenerio though is that you do not have the proper things to tell if you are seriously running lean or not. A nb02 gauge is not a good factor to tell you this. What you need is a fuel pressure gauge, and an EGT gauge to really tell you this.

Until you get the proper things that are seriously telling you that you are running lean, I wouldnt go boosting the piss out of it. You need proper gauges and monitoring info to keep you engine healthy, same thing as needing special tooks to do special jobs.

Get some good gauges, and then report back if your running lean or not.
