97579, Got some T28 questions
Posted by DJ420a, Oct-02-06 05:36 PM
Hey guys, has any of you had any experiences with the T28 turbo?

I have one that came with my Nissan RB motorset and Im def goin to get one bigger for the RB. I thought about giving it a try on the 420a.

I am running an SC61 right now, so I know this T28 will spool faster. Im wondering what its effiency is and how high it can be turned up before it starts to just blow hot air.

Now keep in mind that I am running 10.5:1 compression and Im MS'd. Im pushing 18 psi out of the SC61 right now.

Im just curious as to how a smaller turbo feels as the SC61 is the only turbo Ive ever owned.

I figured Id just you guys so I dont waste my time.

Thanks alot
DJ

t28 feels nice on an sr20 and ca18. I wouldn't think twice about running on the 420a.

Don't switch. The SC61 moves a lot more air than a T28 does.

I run a GT28RS from an S15 Silvia motor and it works great. The max efficiency on it is around 77% on the turbo map (like 72% on the GT28R I think). I run mine on stock compression and @8psi with no problems so far. Its a good turbo for a <300hp setup with super fast spooling.

Thats what this is. It has the T3 flange. Is yours like that, with the T3 flange?

Don't have much to contribute to the thread, other then to say the SC61 is a huge step above the T28 for peak power, but you've got a pretty cool website happening :)

Thanks, glad you liked it so far. A work in progress of course ;)
