97235, Treadstone manifold and helicoil exh. mani hole Posted by DSMcrazy3, Sep-15-06 06:16 PM
Anyone here dealt with the Treadstone company yet? Only threads I could find were basically introducing the kit, once it hit ebay, but I haven't seen anyone with results. I just ordered the manifold a couple of days ago. Just wondering if anyone had any insight as to how they fit and if clearance is good all around.
As for the company, I'm not too satisfied. I noticed not long ago the manifolds were out of stock. So I waited on purchasing, once I saw that bullet taken down and replaced with, "currently in stock", I went ahead and ordered. Only to recieve an E-mail, a few hours AFTER my payment went through that they were out and could either give me a refund, or I could just wait and get the manifold shipped out as soon as they arrive. He's kept in good touch, but that got on my nerves about their supply..
One more thing, I have one of those notorious bolt holes stripped for my exhaust manifold. It's the lower left corner one. To those who have done that hole, how hard is it and how long did it take you?

The one that strip out on me was the one on the farthest lower passanger side. I had to take lose the power steering pump and A/C compressor so I could get a strainght shot at it with my drill. Other than that it was no big deal.

From what I've read they are an exact replica of the Star manifold without the word Star cast into it, and others seem to like their quality over on tuners.

same here man. i ordered mine a couple days ago and they emailed me saying the same thing. i guess a 2 week wait isn't too bad since i don't need mine right away. however it shouldn't had been on ebay if they were out of stock.

It definitely shouldn't have been posted up as in stock when it's not. That's what gets me. Unfortunantly this leaves a friend waiting another 2 weeks to turbo his car, since I'm giving him my old mani.

So far, Treadstone has had horrible service in my opinion. I'm still quoted 2-3 weeks on the manifold, but I also ordered 2 - 2.5"-2.00" reducer couplers(BLACK), which he was going to wait until he sent the manifold out to send to me until I asked him why I hadn't got them, then requested he send them, which he did. However when I got them today the box was opened to see 2 blue reducer couplers... Sure these are little things, but they're pissing me off!!! I just want my damn manifold!

I have a Treadstone manifold, and i have been impressed so far. It alligns with all the stud holes correctly and everything. There is one bolt that is a bit tricky to get on tight, but thats because its right underneath the turbo outlet. Besides that, they are excellent manifolds.

It's a STAR manifold. Any STAR guy can tell you they're decent manifolds.
