Well my stupid capilary tube finally got a kink in it and it's making me angry replacing capilary tube when it's most likely gunna kink again sometime. So is there a place I can get a fitting that I can connect into the back of my boost gauge so I can just use regular vacume tubing that would be the same size as the capilary tubing. Some sort of hose barb or something? Any sites online or places that I can buy from? Any help would be great guys. Thanks in advance.

I tried to use regular vacuum hose but it was a pain in the ass to route through the firewall and routing it around the gauge bezel pod that I had. What I did was used the nylon tubing until it went through the firewall. Right after it goes through the firewall I have it connected to a regular vacuum hose. My nylon tubing doesn't kink because I have it taped to the wire harness every couple inches or so. It's a pain in the ass to tape it up like that but it works great. Just some advice for ya...

I use my TT as my boost gauge so I just used regular vac line and it fit snugly w/o leaks right around the little capillary line that comes out of the TT. It's mounted right under my cd player so the larger vac line isn't a big deal with fitment or anything.

clipse2005 had the idea i used, only i used Zip ties. If you route the nylon tube properly it wont kink. If you really want to use vacuum line then route the first few inches of capilary tube then install 1/8 vac line onto it. Use a small zip tie to secure it and route your vac line you the engine.

You can also purchase one of the nylon tube installation kits, and use the 1/4 in. male to 1/8 in. male adapter with the ferrule and clamp the nylon hose to it. Then go and purchase a 1/4 in. female to 1/4 in. female adapter at your local hardware store and buy a little 1/4 in. male ended nipple which you could install the actual vacuum hose onto. That's what I did, the whole shebang cost $7 and it works perfectly. Just some food for thought. If you don't understand what I am talking about please ask and I'll try to draw up a little diagram for ya.

So there is no way to have a hose barb that will just screw into the back of the gauge?

It will easily with a female to female adapter and a nipple with a male end to it. Only reason I didn't do that was because I thought it was a pain in the ass to route actual vacuum line through the firewall.

Alright guys I went down to my local Ace Hardware and found 1 single fitting that will screw right into the back of the boost gauge. It is considered a hose barb and is small enough that it's nearly as small as the capilary tubing but because it is a hose barb you can just push the vac line over it, zip tie it and your set to go. I have pictures of what the fitting looks like that I will post within the next day. Here is what it says on the package though if you guys want to find it. It says: Hose Barb to FPT, 1/8 x 1/8. If you guys are looking directly at Ace Hardware also the number at the top right corner of the package is 4014379 and barcode number is 82901 01725 7.

I just threaded another vacuum line over the part on the back of the gauge and zip tied it. 20 psi and 4 years later it still is perfectly fine. No plastic line at all.
