Hey guys, I'm almost complete with my custom stage 2 install. Pics will be posted soon just got some questions. When I started it for the first time, its reading almost 80 (76-79) on my electronic fuel pressure gauge with about -10 vacuum on the boost guage. How does those numbers sound? Is there anything I need to check first before I take it for test drive? I'm running a 255lph fuel pump and 12:1 FMU for fuel. What does your gauges usually reads for fuel, egt, and boost at idle? Thanks.

something is wrong . your fp should be around 55 at idle .80psi at idle will give you well over a 100psi at say 6psi maxing out your pump .your vac should also be around 16 - 25hg's .check for vac leaks .

Ya, you deffinately have a vacuum leak.

Your fuel pressure is WAY too high to for idle.
Check the thread down below, the guy was having the same problem with around 80psi of fuel pressure at idle.

Your EGT's at idle should be around 850-1050 probably, somewhere in that range.

When boosting, be sure not to get your EGT's over 1650, I stay tuned around 1600 MAX, or else your going to be melting things.

did you hook up the gauge properly? The autometer should have 12v going to it even when cranking it.

Yes and the sender is connected to the fuel test port with the schrader valve removed. But I will double check.

did you say you're running just the FMU or do you have an SFMU? Could you please explain exactly how your fuel system is setup?

hes just running a 12:1 FMU with the 255 pump.. he doesnt necessarly need a SMFU if hes not running so much boost.
Definitely check for all leaks and re check everything because that doesnt sound healthy lol..

I'm rechecking all the vacuum connections and found out that when I installed the boost gauge it was missing the compression fitting that goes between the 2 nuts that holds the nylon tubing. Fixed that and now my vacuum is 18-20 @ idle.:thumbsup Fuel pressure is now sitting @ 74-76 @ idle. I will go ahead and replace all the stock vacuum hoses with silicone and hopefully catch that vacuum leak that way.

I had to get a new downpipe made with new flanges and O2 sensor bung to connect to my flex pipe from my header for now until I get a 3" downpipe with V-clamps. I'm still keeping yours though for weekend track drags. Hehehe. I just got done replacing every vacuum hose on her except for the brake booster but its too late at night now to fire her up.

Finally got to test drive her! After 6 years of staying all motor, boost is just awesome!!! But there are some things that I'm unsure of like after replacing all my vac lines, fuel pressure is still sitting on 70 psi @ idle from almost 80 psi before I replace the vac lines. Boost gauge is reading about 20 vacuum at idle and 5.5 psi max @ 4,000 rpm. (I did the wastegate spring mod) The pyrometer is screwed I think due to its only reading almost 200 the whole test drive. Also it takes a few seconds now cranking to get her started. I need inputs and advice from you guys to get this car running right. It runs great just some numbers are off from the previous inputs I received. Thanks!

Yikes. Good luck with that. Seriously can't believe you are even considering boosting with fuel pressures that high. Have fun. I would have personally fixed that issue before going out and boosting it, but hey, not my car.

I only drove it for 3 miles to test drove it not anymore than that. That is why I am posting here with my numbers to ask for advice to fix it coz I'm pretty sure one of you guys went through it before I did not made this post to get called by names or to show how crazy I am and shiet. start searching abit on this.. did you check all your lines from the FMU?? the only thing i can say is to get a SMFU.. cuz i would think your FMU is the problem. its just giving you way way to much fuel.

When I installed the FMU, I left the stock FPR vacuum line connected to the system and I read in another forum that it must be unhooked and cap out. The FPR on 1995s is attached on one end of the fuel rail with the feed and return line on the other end. I'm debating if this is the cause of my high fuel pressure. Also, I have a 60mm Jeep TB still installed since I was running all motor.

maybe your fmu is stuck open . take it apart and check

if you drove around like that and your car was pulling strong and not pouring out smoke then maybe the problem is more like your fuel pressure gauge is hooked up wrong and the fuel pressure is fine

but I don't think you were supposed to disconnect the hose to your stock FPR, keep that. get a mechanical fuel pressure gauge and use a T to connect it straight off your FMU and get a idle fuel pressure from there to see whats up, the mechanical gauge should only be like $15 or $20

I cannot find a mechanical fuel pressure gauge anywhere here in stock. The only ones I found only reads upto 15 psi. I will just order it through Summit I guess and wait 3 more week days. For the mean time, I will take off the Jeep TB and see if it causing any vac leaks. Any 420a-T guys there that are running Jeep TB with their setup?
