well i know the people here in this forum arent the nicest so hopefully i'll get some nice responses for once. I just wanna know from all you guys who are boosted, is your car fine to be daily driven, or should i go ahead and by a shitty car just to drive around in. I have a boosted 99 GS with a built motor and decent turbo set up... if you guys could give me your imput without being rude that would be great

Depends on how far you take it. I daily drive mine. A lot of us do. But once you start making 3 or more times the power than this engine was designed for things tend to get touchy. IF you know what you are doing and you MAINTAIN the car like any car should be, you will be fine.

I would daily drive your car, it looks very clean. You just made up my mind to go back to stock. If you are careful with boosting then you wil be fine.

I DD mine on low boost and stock block and haven't run into any problems in over a year of being boosted.

iv been running 6-8 psi for 2 1/2 years now on stock bottom end with no real problems .

I ran for three years on the stock block and it never was a problem. IF i wouldn't have had so many problems with my fuel injectors and oil leaks i would have enjoyed it a lot more. Pluss i compounded the problem with a lowering kit and ground effects.

I would suggest you get a cheap daily driver just to be sure.

When my talon was boosted i drove it everyday for 2 years. now that i am back to stock with that car, the motor is still very helthy and compression is very good. I ran 5psi daily.

If your going to run 10psi + i highly recommend you take every precaution to make sure the car is properly tuned and maintained. In other words you will need to have EGT, wideband, properly Built motor, and a proper fuel system to ensure the car is reliable for daily driving. It can be done if you properly tune the vehicle.

My Eclipse is 15psi and can be driven daily, I choose not to only to keep the body from getting beaten up.

my rebuilt motor boosted for 12k miles before blowing the ringland at 10psi.

It's a bitch but I wasn't really being nice to it anyways lol.

If you've got a built bottom end I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I daily drive mine these days, which is saying something.

Keep it mild (although some of us have a different definition of mild) and it'll be fine. But if you have the resources it never hurts to have another vehicle. :shrug

I could drive mine daily, but I choose not to. It keeps the car in much better shape. Also it is nice to have another car to drive so that you do not have to get in a rush to fix or upgrade something on your car. That way you can do a much better job and make certain that it is done right.
