96036, Anyone heard or used "Treadstone" products before? Posted by totaleclipse_05, Jul-05-06 10:30 AM
I was just doing some searching on eBay and came across these manifolds:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Treadstone-Cast-Turbo-Manifold-420A-Eclipse-Talon-DSM_W0QQitemZ170004908002QQihZ007QQcategoryZ6755QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I did a search on Treadstone and only came up with 1 topic. Does anybody have this manifold? Looks to be good quality and from what I have read on tooners, the 4G63 manifolds this place makes is as good as the turbonetics manifolds that are much higher priced.
Just throwing this out for discussion purposes because I haven't heard of anyone using these, looks very close to Star's manifolds.

One of the guys on Tuners has thier manifold. Treadstone even claims their mani is similer to the start one will replace the star mani. 5yr warrenty no hassel no fault sounds good to me.

"Anything we can do, China can do better..." :+
The manifold itself should be every bit as good as the STAR, maybe even better. Consider the possibility that this is an exact replica of a STAR casting, minus the logo.

I was talking about the manifold has a lifetime warranty:

96044, RE: Anyone heard or used "Treadstone" products before? Posted by Star Turbo Talon, Jul-05-06 04:19 PM
Their advertisement on ebay clearly states its a 5 YEAR ONLY. In an email they stated the same thing, 5 Year Only.
So now you can sk yourself why a company will advertise lifetime on a web site and 5 year on another and tell you flat out in your email its onyl 5 year. Do you think they will warrenty anything?

Yeah that's a good point. I didn't even look at the turbo kit they were offering so I didn't see the 5 year warranty. Hmmm that's kind of weird. Maybe it's a new offering and they haven't implemented it in all their ads? I have no idea, just speculating.

I bought one 2 weeks ago. Great quality and fitment. Still need to get my setup up and running but the manifold was just as described. Real beefy.

a buddy runs a treadstone turbo kit on his prelude and its a great quality kit no problems and the manifold is great. And for 350 bucks for the manifold its cheaper than making your own (well if you pay to have it welded up) and their starter turbo kits are pretty decently priced too.

ok slightly strange post here...but ive seen the treadstone starter turbo kit..and im just wanting some opinions on it..like to say the manifold looks industrial..but the rest of the components i dunno about and i also dunno if the price is good or not. i wanna build a custom turbo kit, but i know the T-25 i got is a bit small...so i wanna keep my options open..

The other parts are great, its all turbonetics stuff I thought Thats the way I might be going, get that starter kit and make/buy the rest of the stuff

Might be a good replacement when star mani goes down...

Star has a lifetime replacement also. you would just have to find a delaer to send it through.

Thoes things are a bit easier to aquire for a lesser price than a manifold turbo and wastegate combo like that..

96187, RE: Anyone heard or used Posted by totaleclipse_05, Jul-12-06 05:11 PM
Hmm, doesn't look too bad imo. I wanna see it installed on an engine before I would spend all that money on it first.
EDIT:

It says it includes the oil return and supply kit with all necessary hardware. Shouldn't need upgraded injectors for a basic 8 psi kit. lild14 already made points saying it needed fuel pump, fmu, and missing link though. It's very close to a complete kit, only a couple extra hundred bucks and it should be.

When I was looking at it it doesnt look to bad but kinda heezy in some parts, first off you have to get your downpipe welded together and fitted for you cuz I gurantee none of those pipes in that picture are mandreal bent to fit our cars as far as dp goes, the BOV is a knock off Greddy, and the FMIC and Filter are just noname stuff as well, I really only like the turbo and manifold imo
