finally done. and man, words seriously cannot describe how i feel. 1 question though. my fcd wasn't working right so i decided to take the car out for a spin without an fcd just to see when the fuel cuts. but the damn thing never cut wtf? i was only seeing around 4psi of boost though, still why didn't it cut?

is it a 95?

If i remember correctly, his is a 97. Just from personal experience, on my 98, fuel cut was weird when friend broke his FCD it was kinda on aagain off again, which is why it took us a while to realize it was the FCD that was broken. Sometimes it would cut, sometimes it wouldnt. /shrug, just get the FCD for some insurance, cause eventually it will.

yep its a 97 eclipse. fuel never cuts for some reason but im not seeing anything over 4psi either dunno why. the fcd i had wouldn't lower the voltage at all which is why i took it off. ill get some pics up soon but my engine bay is sooooooo damn dirty :(

glad ur boosted! sometimes they dont cut if ur lucky. and is your wastegate opening to early? and lets see some pics!!!!

Mine never usually did either until i went higher up in rpm. Maybe past 4500 or 5000, it would only do it.

your wastegat opens at 6 psi and theres usually a 1 or 2 psi drop from the intercooler .

i duno. does the wastegate sort of make a rattling noise when it opens? cause thats what happens when i hit 4 psi. and when im idle'ing why does the bov make a wierd noise? its as if its leaking a little and it sounds sort of like trying to stop with worn out brake pads.

might need to tighten down the allen screws on the BOV, cant remember if i did that for ya before i shipped it. also the set screw may need to be tighted in the middle. i had it all the way out for testing purposes when i had it. glad everything is working out for ya.

Gotta admit was kinda skepitical that you would go through all the work to install it when i sold it to ya. But im really glad you came here and searched hard and got it installed.

what are your EGT's and Air fuel ratios at while your running, does it go into boost pretty smoothly?

haha im not gona lie to you man. i took it to a shop even though i knew how install everything myself. it needed alot of welding and i dont have a welder or any welding skills. star dumptube had a piece welded onto so it doesnt point at the engine block, downpipe was welded and a 2nd o2 bunge was added a bit lower. oh btw i never found the fitting that slides over the egt probe so i just let them weld it on. i know it can screw it up but i took my chances. my egt's were only 1200 but that was because my car wouldn't hit anything over 4psi. it was either fuel cut or the wastegate opening too early. fuel pressure at idle was 21-22 psi. anyhow its going back into the shop in 2 days for another fcd and some tuning with a wideband so it should run alot smoother :)

haha no man, he's tuning it for free. and he's making me another fcd for the cost of parts from radioshack which is somewhere around $15. but the car's going to a body shop right after so yeah.. i'm almost broke anyways :P

but how much did he charge u to have the kit installed ?

hmm since it was in canadian dollars i guess it would come up to somewhere around 600 US. but that was because he had to go out and buy me a couple of little things like an air filter, turbo oil feed adapter, 3 gaskets, grade 8 bolts, etc. plus he did alot of extra welding like adding a piece to the star dumptube so that it doesn't point at the engine block and it came out real nice. he also added a 2nd o2 bunge to the star downpipe. oh wait, almost forgot. he even installed my tein basic coilover kit at no extra charge. im actually happy that i found out about this guy's shop because where i live, no one knows shit about dsm's. im like 1 out of only 8-9 dsm owners in my town.
