Coming out of the coil there is a black wire with a red stripe that is a little thicker than the other 2. That is the positive coil feed. The other 2 wires are the negative feeds for each coil.
The msd install is pretty quick and easy, just read the MSD instructions a few times. Also the instructions on www.asog.net are helpful.
FROM ASOG.NET: Author: alf_man Category: Electrical Application: 1996-I4 Date Created: Apr/11/2000 Instructions:
Ok this worked with me first mounting the ignition module where the factory air box was. I put the tach adapter(which you will need) on the fender well behind the metal plate. Follow the MSD instuctions for connecting the DIS-2 and the tach adapter. Ok now the part where MSD couldn't help me. Undo the plug to your coil pack. Then cut the wire about 5" back. The Black and red wire in the middle is your 12v feed; connect your coil feed there on the plug, then you connect the MSD feed on the other end since you cut it inhalf. The other four connection don't matter what order as long as you put the 1st negitive on the same color, and the second on the other. Don't cross these. You will have a power to connect to your battery positive, and a ground to the negitive. The Blue and Brown wires still hanging just snip them off. Don't forget to set it up for a waste spark, because you will need one.

I want the MSD ignition but is it possible to mount it under the driver or passenger seat?? I have NO room in my engine bay for that thing, plus I would think away from the engines heat would be the best bet??

You can but you would have to get longer wires and also it will make it hard to adjust. The unit is designed to withstand the engine bay heat, it also heats up it self, thats why they tell you in the instuctions not to mount it in the glove box which was my plan.

i picked up my ignition msd dis2 today, i was wondering on my eclipse 99 coming out from the coil which is the channel 1 and channel 2 ? also is the coil harness the other end of the ignition coil i just cut in half? also how it says, to connect trigger 1, then trigger 2 its just like connecting it to the same wires as coil 1 and 2? also if i switch them is that bad?also for the tach adapter do i need to buy the interface harness which they say is extra? thanks Michael 99gs- hrc stage 2

>i picked up my ignition msd dis2 today, i was wondering on >my eclipse 99 coming out from the coil which is the channel >1 and channel 2 ?
I honestly don't know, as long as you match the colors, the color you connect to the white wire needs to be the same color as the one you connect to the white striped one and the one that you connect to the green needs to be the same color that connects to the green striped one. Red wires to the Larger black wire with a red stripe wire. I don't have my car right now to tell you how mine is exactly, it's in the shop being fixed for the last time.
>also is the coil harness the other end of the ignition coil >i just cut in half?
YES
also how it says, to connect trigger 1, >then trigger 2 its just like connecting it to the same wires >as coil 1 and 2? also if i switch them is that bad?
YES
also for >the tach adapter do i need to buy the interface harness >which they say is extra?
Only if your tach adapter doesn't have the butt plugs on it that will allow you to tap in to the MSD wire harness on the wires that have the butt plugs also.

I mounted the MSD where the stock air box was and the tach adapter was behind the front bumper by the horn.
