Well i got the injectors installed and Now i can't get my fuel pressure down on the FPR past 30 PSI. The screw is all of the way out. I don't get it. I thought it was supposed to go down further. The exhaust smells quite rich and i'm not sure what else to do. I have the dark black spring in the Vortech. Is there anything more i can do? Do i need to adjust the vacuum bleed screw?

Do you perchance have a kink somewhere in the fuel line.

Could somone explain to me how the screw ports work on this thing? Were are they set to do nothing? All the way in or out? Vacume bleeds off 1psi pre turn? Is this the same for boost? I think when i got it used they were both all the way in.

Adjusting the Vacume screw in seems to increase the fuel pressure. So i'm thinking that maybe In all the is not beelding off anytthing.

size return line? size sfmu disk? size injectors?

Return out of the fuel rail is 1/4 this goes into a 4AN to tube fitting. Then up to 6AN into the regulator. It is stock return from there. I'm using 30# injectors with the 2.72" disc.

I'm starting to think it's my 4AN return line from my rail to my regulator that is giving me all these problems. The hole for the 1/4 hose on my 4an fitting is quite small. I'm gonig to attempt to upgrade to a 6AN line out of my test port and see if that will help lower my fuel pressure at all.

You did remove the stock FPR didnt you?

Yes, i read corbins hot-to on removing it. I used the snap ring pliers and pulled it out and then cut the end off of it.

If turning the set screw on the top of the SFMU doesnt lower it enough, then you probably need a bigger return line. The set screws on the side dont do much. You will only need to use that for bleeding off pressure while under boost.

most likely your 4an. ive heard of many people having problems getting fuel pressure down with smaller lines. definitely switch to 6an. recommended setup for the 30lb injectors is the 2.72 disk ring combo with a wee bit of open bleed valve (1-2 turns)
just go out and buy 20ft or so of 6an ss + 3 fittings + a 4 to 6an adapter for your fuel rail and your good to go.

all these sfmu writeups have to be changed . so many people read in the write ups that 4an is okay to use but its really not unless ur running stock injectors .

well ive only been on this site for a couple of months and ive read atleast 3 threads (if not more) that talk about the same problem your having. and guess what, i didn't even start installing my turbo yet..

your return comes after sfmu not before...

first off to get the pressure under 30psi you will need to install the brighter silver color spring. I used the factory feed as a return which is 5/16 OD and i was able to get my pressure to 13psi.

yeah, i tried that other spring, it didn't matter, I think the problem is the hole the fuel has to go through in the 4an fitting is really small. This hole pretty much is more restrictive than the regulator below 28 psi. I didn't feel like redoing my fuel system so i just re-installed the stock injectors. I will just have to live with them untill i install a new fuel rail and mega squirt.

Ironically, this was happening to me also today. I have a 95 so I know its not the return line but I can not get mine to go below 30 psi. Bleed valve is all the way out, I am running 30# injectors with the SFMU, silver spring and 2.72 disk also. I am only running rich under boost so I am ok with that for now until I figure this problem out.
