show the fp when the pump primes? I just wired mine up and it doesn't show anything when the pump primes. I'm asking because I can't start the car to see if that makes a difference.

You could get it to do that, but you'd have to tap into a different power wire that is 12v constant and not switched. If you have an aftermarket deck, there will be a yellow wire in the harness. Disconnect it, and hook it up to your gauge instead, and you will be able to see your fuel pressure even when the car is off.

Mine only does if I prime it twice in a row.
