I'm looking for stuff to upgrade on the Hahn Stage II kit. I would like to hear from the experienced guys who've already installed the kit, and found any shortcomings that they had to correct themselves.

I dont have the kit yet, as I am in the process of purchasing it from another 2gnt member. Any input would be appreciated.

fuel pump, get an intank pump and dittch the craptec FPR

other then the the hahn kit is much better then my STAR kit (well I have a crappy FPR too but I do have the better fuel pump)

if you dont have a FMIC , I'd say get that too.


then you dont have anything to worry about until you get a built engine dropped in there

i would say also to get rid of the worm gear style clamps and get some real T bolts. I was always blowing a coupler with the worm gears even at 8psi

If you have plans on going further then keep the cartech if it is working. No sense in spending a lot of money of another fmu or sfmu if you are going megasquirt or portfueler which uses a 1:1

If you have a good running engine now, I would start with the things that will go once you get into the 10+psi range like clutch, maybe a LSD, upgrade the axles, suspension, brakes etc. The hahn kit runs pretty good out of the box from personal experience so while you are not spending the money on a motor rebuild spend it on making the car an all around machine and not just some high HP, no turning, non stopping freak.

Cartech FPR -> Vortech SFMU
Stock injectors -> 30lb (for 9psi) or 42lb (for 10+psi)
HRC FCD -> Missing link
Manifold bolts -> GST 8mm manifold studs

the sfmu and larger injectors are good ideas if you plan on staying at 10ish psi (i doubt it)

the portfueler is happiest when paired with stock injectors.
you will have trouble tuning if you get larger than stock and then the portfueler. its not impossible but a hassle none the less. I had 270cc primaries and had to reduce the fuel map on the secondaries by 20% just to get leaner than a 9:1 ratio
if you go megasquirt you are going to want bigger than 30lb anyway.

if you can find a used fmu cheap, that might not be a bad idea but if the cartech is working I stand by my original post.

I plan on staying at 8psi untill I get back from my next deployment so I'll have more money to work with. And as for the Missing Link, I thought the HRC S2 came with one already?

Also, correct my me if I'm wrong, but doesnt the kit come with the Walborro 255 pump?

If your buying the s2 new from HRC it should come with a 255 pump to replace your in tank one. I belive it also comes with 270cc injectors.

Hey man, the kit already has missing link, wallbro 255 pump, 270cc injector's i believe (never used), and a FMU, not the craptech. Also custom downpipe which I told you about, and a 10AN return line.

dont know what the kit comes with now..

but i had to upgrade to turbo tech hoses

I had to upgrade the couplers. the 90 degree bend right off of the turbine split on me so I went to silicone instead of the rubber that I received. Of course there was no problem until I installed my portfueler and started running more than the stage 2 boost levels
