Posted by 97EagleTalon2nr, May-23-06 04:02 PM
hey i came across this on ebay,
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8068122165&indexURL=1#ebayphotohosting

is there anything that is missing, besides some better gauges, and an a-pillar pod? does that turbo header look like it would work right or would it hit the radiator or starter?? any other input on it? thanks

Well it's pretty looking, but it's a no-name turbo, wastegate and bov, which can all be hit or miss, and the intercooler is a no name, but there are some high quality intercoolers w/out a brand attached to them. I do share your concern about fitment because there aren't any actual pictures of the setup installed on a car, oh and the intercooler kit looks like a universal intercooler and universal piping kit that you can buy separately on ebay

I personally wouldn't trust that much of my money to something that doesn't say Star or Hahn. You can piece together basically that whole kit with quality pieces for about the same

This is so true. I have spent 1500 and have everything except for a fuel pump and oil lines and they are all "quality" parts. Like a tial wastegate, hks bov, turbonetics turbo, star manifold, custom 3" dp, yada yada yada. If you have any know how and you know how to use the search funsction on this site in any way, it is NOT hard to piece together a quality kit for a reasonable price. If it were my money, I would stay far away from this kit and most other ebay kits but that is my opinion.

well i probabally wont get this, because of the manifold, but i do trust the streetsource kit on ebay, the guy is very reputable and alot of people are running his manifolds and i have heard nothing but good things about his kits, and if anything does go wrong with the mani he will fix it 4 free, but it isnt the complete kit, i will probabally piece my own kit together, from the prices i gathered it will be around 2k any other opinions on this kit??

The flanges on the manifold are apparently warped all the time. Its a common mistake with manis that use as much stainless as he does, it likes to warp when you weld it. You can usually get the milled flat for not much money, and then you have a pretty decent manifold on your hands.

edit: that doesn't look like a streesource manifold come to think of it, that looks like the SSautochrome one. it doesn't fit our cars!

no that isnt the streetsource manifold, i was just saying that the streetsource kits have a pretty good rep, i dono wat brand that is ive seen it before though, ive heard two stories about the flanges being warped, one was way out, the other barely leaked but he trued it up for them for free, so that doesnt fit the 420a

It fits the 420A, but not our engine bay. Hits... something... rad hose? I can't recall, but it does not fit.

i would pass on that one. no name wastegate, the nitrous looks like a bottle of wine lol just kidding...
here's a pretty decent kit. ballbearing turbo, sweet intercooler, etc.. and put together your own fuel system (walbro, vortech sfmu, ss fuel return line, etc.) the guy says it comes with injectors but i dont see none in pictures.

or better yet, just do some research and put together ur own kit.
