wattsup fellas... i'm looking for an fmic, and am probably going to go with a spearco one, but i was wondering what dimensions people are using (those of you that have custom fmic's). i've already got the hrc sidemount, and am going to try and use as much piping from that as i can. i want the ic to fill the middle portion of the bumper (97-99 style) but also have enough room to route the piping. if anyone here has gone from the hrc sidemount to a custom fmic, i'd appreciate if you could let me know the best setup that will utilize the sidemount piping as much as possible. thanks.

just get the hahn fmic.

i use a huge spearco fmic, but i forget the dim's.

Here's a good one. It'll be cheaper to buy this ic and new piping than to buy the one from hahn.

but the hahn FMIC and piping fit perfectly with no custom fabrication necessary.

That intercooler you showed is the perfect size, but I don't think I would buy it based soley off of the authors use of engrish.

Save your money and get Hahn FMIC, it is very nice and it supports all the power you need. Spearo are good, but the hahn is worth the money.

hahn's out of the question based solely on money. i'm looking to do this as inexpensive as possible for my current setup. i'm not boosting a ton, i just happen to have the whole car apart again. if i push more power then i'll get a better fmic, but for now i just need a good inexpensive one. i know a bunch of people are running the johnny racecar ones. thinkin' about those possibly too

Engrish smengrish, lol.

Those are good intercoolers and for cheap. I'd buy the hahn one too for the ease of installation, if I had a g to just throw away because I didn't want to run a few pipes. For $200, you just can't go wrong.

In the tuners link above, i'm using the first one. The Megan FMIC. A local shop is selling these things like crazy and there are some big power domestic turbo guys running them with success. Good enough to cool 600 whp fbody's and stangs, good enough for me :)The quality of the core actually surprised me when i got it home. Its nicely tig welded, has a big inlet and outlet, and is nicely polished.

I wanted a Hahn fmic but in the end i'm crafty enough to make my own piping with better material than their kit uses and still come in WAY below what i've seen them go for on here used. IMO if you have the time and means to do this yourself, you can save money by shopping around. If you want something thats "plug and play" so to speak, go with the Hahn fmic setup. Its a very nice setup and you can't go wrong.
