94893, SRT-4 Manifold and Turbo Posted by totaleclipse_05, May-07-06 05:20 PM
Hey guys, I tried to search on this, but only came up with this thread: http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=82157&mesg_id=82157&listing_type=search
Anyways, there is a guy selling his SRT-4 Manifold and turbo locally for $275. After reading the thread above, it seemed like it WOULD fit and WOULD NOT fit. I couldn't find a clear answer. I don't know anything about these really and the guy claims you only need to shave down a couple bolt holes to make it fit our 420a bolt pattern. Anybody have any insight about this? Thanks in advance.

even if it could work, why go through the trouble when you can get a nice stainless steel manifold made for our cars from thestreetsource.net for the same price?

That's what I was planning on getting, if you go to their main site they have the manifold, turbo, and downpipe for 900.
My friend said it doesn't hurt to research this option though. If it could work with minimal fabrication, it could be a less expensive option. I always like to follow the "tried and true" methods though.

It absolutely, unequivically will not fit.

OK, thanks guys. I told him it wouldn't fit at first, but decided I would do some research to make sure I was right. Thanks again

I know you guys are saying it won't work, and I trust you, I'd just like to know why. I know originally there are 2 more bolt holes on the upper corners of the manifold, but I was told you can have them cut off. If that was done, the bolt pattern would be identical to that of the 420a DOHC head. What other problems are there?

The fact that it'll put the turbo power in steering pump, for one, and the manifold in the radiator hose for another.
