Ok, the FMIC I have is an older GReddy and it's kinda small (don't have the dimensions, sorry), but it works. I'm going to be almost doubling my boost and I want to make sure the FMIC is still efficient. Now, since it's kinda old/tiny, should I upgrade it (will need to upgrade my piping too...ugh) or keep it and just get either a water misting system or NX N-tercooler setup? Thanks!

Agreed. These intercoolers are cheap and will provide all the cooling you need. I guess there is no point in risking anything when you can upgrade for fairly cheap. All you should need is a new core.

Before you buy anything, watch your intake tempatures and if you can measure it before and after the intercooler. At the very least put it on a dyno with a decent fan and check out how many pulls you can do before the thing gets warm/hot to the touch.

I've got an OBDII datalogger so I guess I could read the stock temp sensor and log it against RPM for a few WOT pulls on the street (no access to a dyno here in Lynchburg).
My main concern with upgrading my intercooler is the piping. When I installed my Greddy, I clocked the turbo and ran the piping down, around the passenger side of the radiator and then into the intercooler. The exit out of the intercooler exits at the top, through the radiator support (cut a hole) and right up to the TB.
***edit*** After thinking about it, I guess I could take it to an exhaust shop and just have them flip one of the endtanks around so it enters low on one side and exits high on the other side.
