94585, cleaning turbo internals Posted by lild14, Apr-18-06 04:23 PM
ok i searched but did not find really anything helpfull on this. what would be the best way to clean the inside of the turbo without taking it apart? i was told to mix paint thinner and degreaser and submerge the turbo several times, but to be carefull not to submerge the wastegate. would this be a good idea? TIA , dan

I think you'd be okay spraying inside with brake kleen and then make sure it's lubed up before running it on the car.
Why is it dirty? Mine is spotless?

I just cleaned my compressor housing on my 14b, the slick used car salesman spray painted it black so I used the spray on aircraft paint remover, but thats only for the outside.
