94419, Quick question I came up with Posted by cs82685, Apr-08-06 03:03 PM
I know quite a few people have done the resistor mod for the rear O2 sensor to avoid the CEL but I was wondering if it would effect a Narrow Band A/F gauge. The reason I ask is b/c I have the resistor, but I'm not sure exactly what it does (specifically, I know it gets rid of the code) or if it even goes in line with the same wire that the a/f gauge reads off of? Anyways sorry if this is answered somewhere but I wasn't sure if it would make the use of the a/f gauge useless or not and I've never read anything about it.
TIA

Your narrowband reads off the upstream sensor or the one mounted closest to the engine/head. The resistor mod is for the downstream sensor which is mounted after the catcon. They are different sensors and feed the ECU different signals on different wires. When you put the resistor in it goes inline with the REAR downstream sensor, whereas your narrowband gauge reads off the Front upstream sensor. different. Shouldnt/Can't have any effect on the reading. from the front sensor.
