Ok, I searched this entire forum, and didn't really find what I was looking for.
Basically I am fabbing my own intercooler pipes from scratch. When I was fitting the pipes up for the rough layout, I noticed that on the passenger side, the power steering pump fluid cooling lines that run out to in front of the radiator are right in the freakin' way of where I would like to run the pipes back through.

Basically my question is this. How important are those lines? is there a way around them? and does anyone have any pictures of there intall process for a front mount intercooler? I have one where the in and the out are on seperate sides just so there is no confusion.

Carefully bend them out of the way.

Actually a lot of people just remove them altogether and run a small piece of hose from the outlet to the inlet. As long as you are not auto crossing, it shouldn't be a problem. That being said, I left mine on the car, just bending them slightly as Nate said.

what size intercooler pipe did you run?

also, would it be a good idea to unbolt the compressor portion of the turbo, spin it so it points down. If that makes any sence. Anyhow, that way I don't have to loop the pipe up then down, etc. etc.

Also, it is internally wastegated, so would that make a difference because of where the wastegate mounts, and the actuator line might not quite fit right, or can all that move to?
Not sure if any of that made sence, but I am sure you guys can piece it together.

Yes clock the compressor housing. You'll have to take the bolts that go through the WG mounting bracket completely out, the others you can just unbolt alittle bit. When you have it at the angle you want, look to see the closest holes for the WG bracket. If it's really off, clock it some more. If it's alittle off you should be fine.

I dont mean to hack your thread, but I am curious about this same setup, however it is possible to clock the s16g turbo? I haven't tried yet, but I know some you can, and some you cant. Thanks

I'm not sure if the 16g in the Hahn kit is still a Mitsubishi turbo or not.

That being said, all of the Mitsubishi turbo's I have seen, which aren't many have had their compressor housing held on by a snap ring. You can compress the ring and clock the housing. However if you are internally gated still you cannot do that because the mounts for the wastegate bracket are on the compressor housing in one spot so when you clock it, there is no way for the holes in the bracket to line up with the holes on the compressor housing.

Unless you weld on another WG Actuator mounting mount. ;-)

I've had my compressor housing clocked for WELL over 2 years or so. I'm still using a S16G, bu tI've got custom intercool piping to a GReddy FMIC.
