I have read past post on making you own diaphram for the S-FMU. What are you guys using and where can I buy It? I really need one by Monday. I checked Lowes Did not fing anything

You would need a similer thickness of neoprene rubber to do that. I havent ever seen anyone actually do it or talk about doing it.

I made one and have been using it for over a year. It's almost exactly the same as my old ripped one.

So I guess I'm the first to do it huh. ? :P

I tried "fixing" the Craptech FPR once by using a Vortech diaphragm, and other custom hard parts. It still didn't work though. But yeah, any fuel & oil resistant diaphragm should work fine. Personally, I'd just call Vortech and ask for a new one. They're not that expensive.

Vortech rapes you. I've done it and it works. I got a square peice of rubber at lowes awhile back, it was slightly thicker than the one that came from vortech and was less flexible but it worked. It was in the plumbing section I believe, like 10"x10" and its a brownish orange color.

I got a replacement from vortech for 10.99 I think? Anyway it was worth it since its the right one from the beginning...

I have used the same one as his. It is at Lowes in the pluming section like he said above. It is cheaper and works fine.

Im going to go check tomarrow again. I was just trying to have a fix so I could get the car off my lift. I plan on calling vortech and ordering one on Monday. How often do they rip? I have only put about 1200 miles on in two years.

They only rip when you tighten the idle screw down too much like it says not to do in the manual.

They wont rip if you buy the one from Lowes, even if you tighten it a little to tight some times.

tried to make my own but couldn't find the gasket stuff at Lowes or anywhere. The rubber was just way too thick. I wound up just ordering it from vortech.

I could never find it either. I had to order to $17 each
