I know everyone is thinking BOOM..but really..What do you all think about a 75 shot being sprayed to intercooler? I know that wouldnt be the same as a 75 shot sprayed normaly..but Im sure it woudl produce cooler temps...meaning more horses..and im sure a little bit of nitrous would make it through the intercooler..and add maybe 30hp? what do you all think?

I have always heard what ever the shot is, add about 25 HP to it with a turbo car. I would start with a 50 shot. It would make cooler temp but also it is still going to boost the HP due to more O2 and N in the cylinder.

A 75 shot to the intercooler sounds silly and a waste of money and NOS. If you are going to do it, do it right. The simplest setup to get away with is using a 50shot wet but I am more concerned about timing. I do have a 50shot dry but I still need to setup my fuel maps for it so it has not been used yet.

Exactly. you could spray a light mist of nitrous onto the intercooler and it would turn it icey cold. A 75hp or even 50hp seems a waste. NX has a intercooler kit but I still think you might as well spray it in the engine. It already cools the intake charge 65deg F when sprayed into the engine.

If you want to go w/ a fogger setup, I'll switch you manifolds and sell you my kit pretty cheap. Anywhere from a 50 shot to a 250 shot. You've got plenty of fuel, you'll just need to have your DFI setup to run NOS. I'd use a 50 shot for spool up, that'd be nice, but I have to much other crap to get done right now. Mark, I really don't think you need it but it'd be fun as hell to go dust some Vipers bad.

I'm new, so this may be dumb....

Couldn't you just get rid of the intercooler (use a stage 1 kit), but get a turbo timer (and whatever the equivelent naws "timer" would be), set the turbo timer so you really hit the PSI at 4k and higher rpms so that your pushing 10 or 12 psi (if thats not to harsh for stock internals) and then just drop enought naws in there to keep the air cool and prevent premature detonation?

Then again after your done buying the parts, its porlly just cheaper to get a stage II.

No. It would not work. The theory does have some merit though. Nitrous (as it actually should be properly referred to unless you mean the NOS brand specifically) does give an intercooled effect as it drops the intake temp greatly, but the setup you are describing is far more complicated and actually more costly as you would have to continuosly refill the bottle. Oh, I believe you mean a boost controller and not a turbo timer as a turbo timer lets the engine run when you leave the car.

Yeah, thats it! A boost controller (said I was new :-)!

But You could sync the no2 and the turbo to trigger at the same time (only had high rpm so it wouldn't trigger under normal driving conditions) so you wouldn't blow through no2.

Probably stilld doesn't make sense with the cost of all the stuff to make it work though. I think the cost of no2 and a stage 1 turbo alone would make more economical to just get a stage 2.

Well, the cost is part of the problem. The other is the big boost of power on stock internals causing detonation.
