Any idea what size fitting this is?

Keep in mind I used a super cheap caliper to measure with and the measurements are probably +/- .01 or .02" off.

I think it is, but he can quickly tell by measureing the inner diameter.

-10AN = 10/16" = 5/8" ID

i was going by hose size

if you order 6an superstock hose from russells it has 3/8 ID on the outside

The inside diameter on the smaller end is ~ 7/16" and tapers out to ~ 11/16" on the bigger end.

Judging by the ID's I think its -8an to -12an. Can anyone confirm before I order some fittings?

wickedesi is right, AN is in 16th's of an inch

-8AN = 8/16 or 1/2"
-10AN = 10/16 or 5/8"

It's just that I work w/ hydraulic fittings everyday...not trying to brag.

Mike D: The fitting is a male to male union (lol) with -8 AN to 7/8 straight thread. I see you have an o-ring or some kind of gasket around the nut on the straight thread side, make sure whatever you are installing that side into has a chamfer around the top of the thread. That is what the o-ring side would seal against.

Baxsom: memory check was close, but 3/4 is -12AN

Wickedesi: measuring the inner diameter is not how you tell what size fitting you have because higher pressure fittings have thicker walls, i.e. less inner diameter. The way you tell is by measuring the mating tube outer diameter.

So a male -4 AN fitting will connect to a tube with the O.D. of 4/16 or 1/4 or .250 whichever way you want to look at it

Some companies refer to AN fittings differently, so if you guys are buying some fittings for our cars AN just stands for ARMY NAVY, catchy huh, some places like Parker call them JIC or SAE 37 deg fittings.
