My car is noticeable slower than it was on the old set up. the car barely pulls one i get into 3rd gear. I think something with the spark is not right. I was running a 75 shot before and the car pulled a lot harder than with the 90 shot now.

There are two videos of 4th gear pulls on nitrous. Sorry for the bad video but i was filming and driving.

The actual nitrous is working and nothing with the system is wrong.

Some thing i think could be causing this problem is the igntion. I think the coil pack is bad since i just changed the wires and plugs. I have ngk copper plugs gapped to .050 or .50. w/e the stock gap is for my car.

The car runs fine all motor but on nitrous its weak.

Compression Test.

I would recheck your electrical connections, and check everything over ie nitrous psi. I had the same thing happen to me and it ended up being a ground wire. Also re-gap those plugs to .35 for nitrous use.

Hows the jet look.. any build up? Do you have a n2o filter? Also what kind of nozzle is it?....Some are great with 75 shot and below....when you start to go bigger you need a bigger better nozzle for proper optimization. Also what octane are you running?

im running a NOS kit. with 93 oct. All the connections are good. Im going to check the jet for any clogging. I dont have a ntrous filter. Im going to repostion my fogger a little closer to the manifold.

im going to get new plugs and gap them to .35. Are copper ngk's good to get or no?

will you fuel system support a 90 shot? are you sure? the closer you inject the better, in every way. there's a reason for direct port.

i moved it closer and changed my plugs. Also gapped them to .35. Still have the same problem.

it is very weird though. I was in 4th gear at 5k rpms. i hit it and sprayed and it pulled hard for a second or two then noticeable slowed down and went back to being slow. This is so frustrating!

Have you done a compression test yet? That's your first mission.

Also, when you say "slow", do you mean "as slow as stock", "a little quicker than stock but not enough" or "slower than stock"?

as slow as stock to a little faster than stock. Im doing a compression test sunday morning. Will let you know the results.

Hey after you do your compression test.......if all is good.....you might want to check into "you might have a bad bottle of n2o" ....

It is possible you got a bad bottle of n2o from the filling station. Yet somthing else to think about if all is checking out good. If your supplier didn't clear his filling line before he filled you up you might of been filled with a stale bottle.Maybe he let of n00-b fill you :P

no its been like this for more than 1 bottle.

i got the compression test done. I tested each cylinder 3 times
results:
1: 150,130,130
2: 130,100,130
3: 140,140,120
4: 130,110,130

Do you think this could be why my car is slow as hell?

I got a new coil pack but have not yet tested it out with the nitrous(empty bottle)

Is that on a stock bottom end? Did you add a capful of oil and then do the test? (If the numbers jump, then it means rings). Also, was that on a warm motor?

i did not add oil. But it was on a warm motor. Are those good #'s?

Not really. They should be more like the 190-210 range. Try adding a cap of oil to the cylinder and do the test again. Like I said, if they increase, that typically means your rings are at fault. If they don't jump, then something else like timing, valves or a HG is at fault.

Was your engine warm when you did the check also did you disconnect the relays on the fire wall.

No i did not disconnect anything. I will try it agian it oil but i think its my rings anyway. would that cause the car to do what its doing topend? Im pretty sure its been like this for a while and the car has only running better with the new head i got. I dont know whats going on!!

Well, give it a shot with the oil (still do it warm). If it jumps, it's probably rings. Yes, with low compression you'll certainly feel a lack of power. Now, when you shoot the N2O, you theoretically should still feel a boost in power, unless it's just going past the rings. Do you have a catch can? if so, what's it look like?

bump... i still have the same problem. It is really starting to annoy me. I changed all the igntion stuff and the motor is fine. Compression is good. Could the ecu be pulling timing or something. It is a steady pull but just really slow! I have brand new plugs,coil pack, wires. I have no idea what else could be causing this problem.

How about to much restriction from the exhaust?

dont think its the exaust. try your old 75hp shot and see what happens.look at the #s on the pills,does it seem like they match. fuel to n2o. check the fuel press while on a run. if it drops too much when you sqeeze, that might be it. do you have a wideband o2, or even a nb. gauge. in the future think about direct port. its more expensive, but its safer and stronger. a dp 75hp should feel like a 90hp shot @ the throttle body. btw- hold the throttle down when you do the comp. check, and have someone look at the gauge and tell you to keep turning it over till it peaks out.

i dont have a wideband. I do have nb though but they dont do anything. The #'s match up for the jets. Im going to put in the 75 jets and see what happens.

I was running a 75 shot for over a year with no problem then the timing belt broke so i got a brand new stock head and bumped it up to a 90 shot.

What are the #'s for a 75 shot. I have so many jets.

You guys are missing the fact he has SHITTY ASS COMPRESSION on all cylinders :shrug wtf? is the problem here.

Richard, your rings are pretty much shot as far AS I'm concerned. How long have you been running the nitrous? Really though. a new stock compression engine is within 190-210 psi. you have alsmost half that which makes it feel like poop.

i did the compression test wrong. And the nitrous was working great(14.4 @98) before i got the new head. Once i got the new head the nitrous was messed up in 3rd and 4th gear. The compression might not be perfect, but i honestly dont see how it could get worse while the car was down.

I have been spraying my car for about 2 years now.

What were the new compression #'s? When installing the new head, a million things could have went wrong, poorly seated valves, bad headgasket seal, and on and on and on. The problems started with the new head so maybe it has something to do with the head. . . Have you tried the 75 shot again?
