9361, Question for Stan?????? Posted by guest, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Well I have to tell my sister what exhaust to get me for christmas. And I plan on going with your setup. What exact muffler do you have. I know its a hayame but which one? And I am getting the pacesetter cat-back too. How much was it to have the muffler welded on to the paceseter cat-back? And was it a big problem or did it fit nicely? Thanks!!!!!

Hayame Type 7

Around $40 or $50 cant rememeber exactly. Probably cheaper if you just take it to a muffler shop. I had the same shop that I bought it from do it (via outside contract). one middle man too many. Usually a $20 or $30 job.

If a place called Mizer muffler can do it in 15min how much trouble could it have been :-) They have to do it on an angle to fit and although you cant tell from the pic its every bit as angled as an N1.

Yeah my sister buys me pretty good presents. Thanks for the info. I think I might be able to get this present before christmas. Hopefully.

Ok I looked on modacar.com and they have it there but it only has a 2.25 inlet diameter. Does yours have that same inlet size? And is the hayame "XTR" type 7 the same as yours is? If the 2.25" inlet is a problem I think I might go with the N1 because it has a 60mm inlet which roughly equals 2" 3/8. Here is the address.... http://www.modacar.com/mitsubishi/frameset_mufflers_mitsu.htm

Yeah thats the one I have XTR type 7. Its the smallest of the XTR series (In person the other ones looked huge on the wall). And it has the 2.25" inlet which wasn't a problem. I like the XT series look better but they weren't out when I did mine. Down the road I will likely get the Tanabe racing medalion or 3" APexi cat back but no rush right now.
