I found a company that makes tubular manifolds for our cars for $330! and they look very nice.

They don't fit.

The unit pictured has a 4g6 flange.

i think you unglue the flange and stick on a 420a flange dino.

no such thing as a cheaply priced tubular manifold... there are however CHEAP tubular manifolds :P

they are cheap indeed ....
xspower= ssautochrome aka our manifolds are the worst you could get and our chinese made fake garrett turbos will piss oil and won't last more than a few weeks

I bought a turbo from xspower on accident (refer to my other posts about how reliable they are). Well, when I installed the turbo, it leaked and spray oil all over my engine when i did a test run with no charge pipes connected. Talk about quality. And I also read a post about some civic buying one of these manifolds and it actually broke at the turbo flange within a few weeks. The flanges look thick but the metal used for the runners are very thin. XSPower is the same as SSautochrome, and whatever they decide to change their name to next. So here are your choices, keep buying cheap manifolds and replace them with more cheap manifolds for the rest of your cars lifetime or save up and buy a real quality manifold.

Even though I've heard of some success stories with their products, I personally would never trust them and you shouldn't either. BEWARE OF XSPOWER AND SSAUTOCHROME!!!!!

i am working with Kordenbrock Motorsports ( friends brnad new shop) and we are making a full tubular manifold out of (.165 wall)3401 stainless steel and he will be selling them but i will post it up when we complete mine and i will then let you guys know the price....weare currently producing catch cans and working on crank case breathers

Blake

pm me if you guys have any questions

I wish I had a dime for every time this happened.

But who know maybe this time will be different.

i will get some on sat...hopefully we will be working on it.....they are going to try and create there own unique design and work form there.....we already have one done for a b series honda but the one for the 420a is going to be flatter but the same concept we dont just weld individual runners to the flange they all get welded into a 2 inch collectors for our cars and other collectors vary on the car.....we did our math when designing and these will not fail and will be very high quality....my buddy troy is a perfectionist so if it looks like shit then we start oveer and fix it right....but i will post somethin up for yas......

Blake

and to the guy that said the dime thing......we will not fail.....

Don't get me wrong...your intentions sound genuine...but to become a supplier takes a great commitment. And it just seems like we've seen a lot of "would be" suppliers come and go...and I’ve only been here about 3 1/2 years.

Good luck to you though! If/when you do offer something I may be very interested.

What do you mean by all this jumble? 2 inch collectors? What's the ID of the runners? How long are the runners? What material is used for the flanges? What type of turbine inlet flange? What makes you think it won't fail, when you haven't even fabbed up a prototype yet?

Exactly what math did you actually do? Please share.

check out www.kms-fab.com ...its under customer cars....the site is up but is constantly being updated....sorry for the delay i ran into some mechanical issues with the car and had to put it on the back burner but now i am back

p.s. the photos are of the preliminary mock up but they give a general idea

oh man everyone in this thread just got served so bad. mani still has a long way to go, but hey.

buuut if it costs as much as the other tubular mani you have, $700, I can get the same style manifold made custom how I want it for about $175 less locally.

No one got served at all until we see a finsihed product and it actually stays in one piece.

It looks extremely close to the radiator hose which is not good and the welds look like the could be a bit cleaner. Plus, it sucks having to mount the turbo like that so close to the radiator.
94368, RE: Tubular Manifolds Cheap!
Posted by dougie2, Apr-03-06 08:27 AM
It's a start. It doesn't look like a turbo bigger than a 16G is going to fit though... and if that's the case, why bother?

It'd be good if you guys can come up with a design that'll accomodate larger turbos with a T3-style flange. The tough part is fitting the turbocharger in a place where it doesn't contact the starter and/or radiator. Not a problem with a 16G, but a BIG problem with larger frame turbos.
94369, RE: Tubular Manifolds Cheap!
Posted by BumpinTalon, Apr-03-06 08:30 AM
I agree with dougie there. You should mock up with a T3/60-1 just to make sure nobody has clearance problems.. since most of us run turbos smaller then that, and those that are going to run ones bigger then that have the know-how to make or have made a new manifold just for their application.

Actually if you remember back another member on this board has a equal length mani and it looks like blake just copied the design. Only difference was the other guy had it tucked to the block tighter to fit a larger turbo.

If you search back in the turbo section i am sure you will find it. it was last spring or winter when he had that design and started working on another style one.

are you talking about extreme97nt?

he had a nice equal length too but he couldnt get his hood to close and his FP turbo sat REAL close to the radiator.
94381, RE: Tubular Manifolds Cheap!
Posted by blake, Apr-04-06 04:52 AM
like i sadi this is just a preliminary mock up shot...we did run in to some clearance problems with the hood but those were takin car of with a little bit of trimming....as far as price goes...we havent calculated the price yet but i am sure it will be cheaper than the other mani do to the fact that it took like 3 day to finish weld all of those runners....as far as copying and pasting a pic...dude shut up...for now i am running a ported big16g but in the future i may move to a top mount with a T3 we figured out a way that a top mount will work and will be working on that in the future....

Blake

p.s. Thanks to all that have given compliments and everyone you know what to do

updates will be coming soon

Did I say you copied and pasted the pict you little stroke? Your design has been done already by another member 1.5-2 years ago. learn how to read or find another board to stink up.

No mike it wasnt Paul, i will look for the member.

edit, here is the guy that has already made a few designs: http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=78588&mode=full
