93508, still actin like fuel cut. Posted by ameclipse, Feb-23-06 09:31 AM
ok i figured out what the problem was. my Missing Link was messed up the plastic piece on the inside came out i guess it wasnt seeted in there all the way and kind of poped out. car is running better now but still gets a littlew hesitant a couple of times and if i slam on it as usual it will lean way out and when i let up a little it will go back to normal and boost. could my spark plugs be the problem i have denso iridiums but have ordered the ngk bkr7e. if this isnt the problem should i get a safc. any suggestions would be helpfull. also i got an exhaust leak but i dont think it has anything to do with this problem. i just want to be able to wot and tear down the road with out the awfull studar and fuel cut. Also i havent got any codes since i fixed the Missing link. Ill put it to the test when i drive to work in the morning. any help would be appreciated.

Stock injectors I presume? 12:1 FMU?
Don't get an safc it will NOT help out your problem, only cause more imo.
And Yes, those plugs Suck for this application. Get NGK bkr6e gapped to .035 Don't get the bkr7e-11's because they're pregapped at .045 which os too large and they don't work properley if you have to adjust the electrode that far out of whack.
EDIT: and where isa the exhaust leak coming from? Fix that too.

I've ran the colder plug with the correct gap with no problems. I've never heard of a plug that will only run with a certain gap. The exhaust leak may cause a lean condition b/c the O2 will not be seeing the correct condition. Just depends on how much of an leak you have. Try the NGK's and see if you can borrow a properly working ML. I'm guessing that the ML is still causing your fits. Don't bother with the SAFC.

actualy the ml works fine now the plastic thing inside wasnt seated all the way but yes i will be buying another. yes im running stock injectors but am going to upgrade and aslo i have a 12:1 fmu. I wasnt even thinking right casue the exhaust leak is before the o2 and yes it is kind of big but not. its on the exhaust side of the turbo were the downpipe meets it one bolt broke off and i cant get the remander off and and the top hole got stripped unkwowingly before i bought it. so i will buy another exhaust housing. i dont even know why i didnt think of that before and i call myself a mechanic what a bum :)

The -11 means it's pregapped larger than you want. You shouldn't change the gap of a spark plug more than like .008 or something as it hinders the performance.
