93218, Echaust housing probs. Posted by powellds, Feb-07-06 10:07 AM
So I just got my star downpipe today and it's in near mint condition, my problem is that the Garrett T3/T04e's exhaust housing is at a different angle than the Turbonetics t3/t4. My question is, will a Turbonetics exhaust housing fit on my Garrett T3/T04e without a problem? Thanks for any help, as always, I really appreciate it. By the way, it's the 5 bolt flange.

Can't you tell by looking at it. lol
I mean if it's pointing in a different angle than you'll need new exhaust as far as I can tell you.

Can you swap the turbonetics exhaust housing onto a Garrett turbo?

Cant you cut the downpipe and turn the flange how you want it then have it welded? Any pics?

Well, I guess I could, but I live in a small town and they charge an assload of money for stupid stuff. I don't have any pics, but the star downpipe (one piece of course) doesn't line up to the five bolts, I can get the top one in, but the rest are at an angle that if I try to line the downpipe up, it rocks to far and hits the bottom of my car where it's supposed to bolt to the catylitic converter. Someone told me that garret turbo's are angled differently and that the star pipe was made for the trubonetics t3/t04b. This just sucks, but I will have to just get the flange repositioned along with some flex so it doesn't crack. Oh well, but still, anyone know if a turbonetics exhaust housing will work on a garret?

x2 Pop the current one off slap the turbonetics one back on, they should be interchangeable unless you got a vastly different center section then you had before.
