I finally got my valvecover back from my friend who powdercoats. It was well worth the wait though, turned out better than I expected. I cant decide whether I want to wet sand the DOHC letters for an aluminum finish. I will probably leave it how it is for now, atleast till I get the engine put back together, then I'll see what it looks like. I am gonna have my IC piping powdercoated this color as soon as I have some modifications welded next week. The coolant container has just been painted with bulldog primer, then SEM paint and SEM clearcoat, same as intercooler diamond logo. The diamond logo needs cleaned up on the edges, I have a little overspray, but I am gonna clean it up with a cuetip and some paint thinner later tonight. It is uneven(more towards bottom) cause that Stillen front end cant show all of that big FMIC, so I had to paint it in the viewable area... What do you think?

You mean tight? :-) lol. umm, yeah, first I'll put the engine all back together and see what I think and then I'll be able to see if the letters would look good blocked off. I cant wait to get the IC piping done, I bet it'll look better than black. with black turbonetics silicone connectors. -- Brad Rickard 98 GS HRC Stage V (nuff said)

Brad...you have the HRC stageV turbo kit and you have the stillen or sparaco front mount?? I thought the stageV came with the front mount. Did you just like like it or is it different then the option you can get. Also, did you get the Accel DFI with your kit? How does that thing work and how much would it cost if I was to buy one separtely?? Do you use the FPR as us StageII owners??

>Brad...you have the HRC stageV turbo >kit and you have the >stillen or sparaco front mount??
APEXI FMIC
>I thought the stageV came >with the front mount. Did >you just like like it >or is it different then >the option you can get.
It's not the one Hahn offers, it was purchased seperately is what I was told by the previous owner. (Thank gawd I didnt have to pay for that.
>Also, did you get the >Accel DFI with your kit? >How does that thing work >and how much would it >cost if I was to >buy one separtely??
Yeah, Stage IV adds the Accel DFI and the 625cc injectors and all the other good fuel stuff. The DFI is a piggyback ECU that works with the factory ECU. It's a must for high boost, unless you wanna go all out full EMS like the Haltech E6K or whatever it is.
>Do you >use the FPR as us >StageII owners??
Nope, I'm not cursed with your alls FPR thank god. I'm not sure which brand it is but it comes with the Stage IV and V.

HRC used to use the apex front mount in their kits (when I bought mine, it came with one.........sold it). I like that color. It looks like the same color I used on my stuff (translucent red).

yeah, same core design. It was bought in late 99. And yes, it's plenty big, the Stillen front fascia is quite wide open, and it still cuts off 2-3 inches at the top.

I have the ApexI FMIC as well. I acquired it from Armond since he mentions it. That is what came as the FMIC option until HRC provided their own as stated before. Yours with inlet and outlet on the same side is the HRC design.

Yeah, like murix says, if yours looks like mine, its apexi, if not and its a hahn kit, it's a hahn FMIC, yours having both inlet and outlet on the same side sounds like the hahn one. My kit was bought when it was first availiable back 2 yrs ago now...When they offered the apexi front mounts.
Update: most everything is done being painted and being reinstalled now, the valvecover is back on, the radiator and fans and intercooler will be back on tonight hopefully, then the front end and some other stuff and it'll be running again hopefully.
