92586, Question dealing with the turbo timer
Posted by xlr82x, Jan-06-06 06:57 AM
Ok, I have a 96 RS that I am putting a turbo in right now. I just have one question. How do I install a turbo timer on this thing with a N/T ECU? I have no idea what I should be playing with when it comes to the ECU. I know the brown wire goes into the E-Brake. Any help would be great and sorry if this is posted somewhere else but I just have not had time to look for since I'm at work.

Do you not have installation instructions??? What color and how many wires are there?

what type of tt do you have. Simplest way to do it, would be to buy the harness (any eclipse turbo harness will work) and then just run your e-brake wire as you already know.

Ok, I'm having problems with my Blitz DTT as well. I hooked everything up this weekend and grounded out the e-brake cable like it says to do if you don't wanna run the wire. Well, the unit powers on and I can cycle through the menu and all, but as soon as I turn the car off, the unit shuts off. I'm using the Eclipse harness as well. I noticed that if I very very carefully turn the key almost to ACC, the unit will start to count down and then the car will shut off. But if I turn the key all the way to LOCK like I'm going to take the key out, the unit shuts off along with the car.

RED = +12v Constant
BLUE = +12v Accessory (1st ignition position)
GREEN = +12v Key switched to "ON" (2nd ignition position)
BLACK = Reliable chassis ground

Sounds like you either mixed up Blue and Green, dont have a good ground, or haven't properly disabled the safety features (speedo/ebrake).

i think he means he just grounded that wire instead of hooking it up to the e-brake. I would just run it to the ebrake real quick just to see if it does work or try and find a better spot to ground the wire
