alrite guys....emissions has come up and im in va. My check engine light is on and the code im getting is stated in the title. Know i do have a leak between the turbo and manifold which has no gasket and 2-3 small leaks where the flex section was welded. I change the o2 sensor with and oem one that my friend had on his car and im still getting the same code. I even went ahead and changed the downstream one and same result. Im going to put in the gasket when i get freetime but just checking if there is anything i should look over while im at it. We did reset the ecu and shit. Also it takes about 5-10mins for the code to show up again after the thing was reset with the newer sensor.

I'd probably get the leaks fixed first and see what happens.

Unless the to mating surfaces between the turbo and manifold were machined PERFECTLY, you wouldn't need a gasket. Also if there is ANY leaking exhaust when you put a new gasket on, it will burn away and leak again.

You should fix that. Exhaust leaks suck.

I'm only saying that because I had my turbo and manifold planed so they were exactly flat and no, I don't have a gasket there and there are no leaks.

well apperently i do need a gasket in between the turbo and manifold because u can feel the air coming out once u rev the car.

yea you def need a gasket then.

aite guys...i fixed all leaks except the leaks on the welds near the flex section by the downpipe. The check engine light still comes on for the same bs. What do u guys think will happen if i were to take the car to emissions and before i let them do the test i reset the ecu? Because it takes like 5-10 mins to come back on so im thinking they can get do the test and pass me. Do your guys think this will work? Please let me knkow

and yes i did check the o2 sensor wiring and reset the ecu everytime

register the car in southern virginia where there are no emissions :thumbsup that is if you've got like family there or somethin

if the lights on you wont pass, but the turbo shouldnt keep you from passing , you have a cat right?

If I'm not mistaken, the readiness monitors won't be on. In other words, the ECU takes some time to read some of the longer range sensors, like the O2. If you go to the shop within 5 min, the ECU will tell the reading computer that it's not ready yet. You won't pass if that happens.

well guys....i passed the emissions...i just went to the emissions station and while i was waiting for my turn I took the negative terminal out and disconnected the ECU. As my turn came, put everything back togther and sent the car in with no check engine light. Came back an hour later and found out i passed. Whats funny is when i paid the emission fee and got in my car the check engine light was on. I guess it came on after the test was over. Anyways i want to thank everybody who gave me feedback and helped. Really appreciate it.
