hey im just checking to see if it really matters what boost gauge i buy...does it really need to be a name brand,do some work better than others and also can a turbo timer lower the psi under the wastegate setting or is it not possible to go under stock levels

errr....i think you mean boost controller. Turbo timer is simply a timing device that keeps your car running at a set time. Boost controllers can only raise boost levels, not lower them. As for boost gauges, most people go with the mechanical autometer ones, but if you want better accuracy I believe you should use the electric ones. I'm sure other people will give you a better input on this...or just tell you to do more searching which I also recommend. :thumbsup

A good boost controller would be a greddy profec B spec. I have 2 and I love them. What turbo do you have and do you know what the internal WG is set at?

I also recomend a better gauge than the autometer. I spent $700 on air intake temp/egt/boost/oil temp/Fuel pressure/water temp for the silvia and the egt is fucked, air temp worked for like 3 weeks and boost gauge is off by like 3 psi comparing readings from the boost controller. I have an HKS boost and EGT gauge in the talon and you'll love an electronic boost gauge. Very accurate but quite a bit more money.

EDIT: and for the record.....HKS black face 60mm gauges are sexy.

go with the zeitronix wideband controller

it monitors wideband, boost, egt, and tps

the controller can be hidden and either monitoredd with a laptop (kinda ricey)

or with a display screen about the size of a deck of cards

yea i def meant boost controller..haha i musta been a little too tired...i feel retarded...i have a 14b turbo and the boost will be stock which is like 15...

Yea, on a stock mototr your def. gonna have problems running that much boost.

so would i need to get a external wastegate to manage that?

I would suggest you do get an external and put in a 5-7 psi spring. Have you purchased your manifold yet?
