Hey guys I'm workin on a custom setup for my car and was wondering if anyone was using an aftermarket radiator with a turbo setup? Thing is I need space so I'm looking for a smaller one to do the same job more efficently. Any help is apperciated.

Well, I dont think you can find a smaller radiator than that piece o sheit thin stock one. Well, I guess its ok unless you run high boost. Get a fluidyne radiator, their twice or three times as wide, but its sweet and looks good in the engine bay also. You can get it the cheapest from RRE and they'll weld it to fit your car for 40 bucks. If you want to save space, get FAL fans, I am gonna get them around christmas, they're a lot thinner and more effective than the stock ones and look good but they're expensive.

Dont know where to get a smaller radiator but you can certainly get thinner fans that even work better. Fal sells 2G fans or you can fit some universal fans. They will allow a little more room with the stock radiator

thats looks nice inside your car super ... well it does not touch anything like the turbo etc? that looks nice have you had a chance to start it up with that installed? how was it if so ?... any over heating probs etc?

I have only ran a few high boost runs since it was installed, that was the last time I had it together long enough to drive for a day... I will do some extensive testing after its running again in a few days hopefully, whenever I get some time to finish everything. The fit is kinda tight, the fan casing is close to the exhaust side of the turbo, but those fans will only be in there for another month or 2, until I can order the FAL fans. They are a lot thinner and more efficient than stock.

the radiator in the 5 speed non turbo eclipse and 4 cyl 5 spd avenger's are smaller than automatic tranmission equiped cars. I think that is the only smaller radiator available.

Brad, is that little filter next to your fuse box a catchcan???

Thanks Armond, but I have an Automatic so I wouldn't be able to use a radiator off a 5sp. My v-6 is so crammed and I need that space so Im lookin to find a radiator that will free up some space. How about a radiator off a RS/GS automatic? Are they smaller than mine?

His radiator actually takes up half the space the stocker, and he's had no problems with overheating. I'll ask and see what i can find out for you..

He as in the guy with rhe v-6 eclipse? Because thats the
stock radiator for a 6g73. Which I have, I'm really lookin for something smaller and more efficent.

Okay heres the deal I took the stock radiator to a radiator shop and asked them to fab one for me. I told them to take half the length and make it a dual core. Then I fabbed the return line myself. Just ask the shop what they can do for you. Then get a slim fan to fit the radiator. The total was around 300. 200 for the radiator and 70 for the fan late

Yes you could probably but your return hose will still rout right by the turbo. If you look on the set up above. The in port is in the stock location and the exit is out the side on top. late mike
