I know a lot of you guys are running aftermarket VIS hoods with turbo kits. What are you using to prevent the heat from cracking your hood? My turbo has done a number on my cheap VIS hood. I installed one of those exhaust-side heat shields on my turbo, but my hood is still getting really hot. I've had a hard time finding a place that sells heat shielding for hoods. Any help would be great.

Sorry if this may be in the wrong section, but I figured it was turbo related cause the problem is from my turbo.

I don't have one of those hoods, so I'm not sure if this will help, but I've got the downpipe and wastegate dump (hehe) wrapped in exhaust wrap. In addition, I have the sticky side heat shield on the underside of my hood. I don't know if it would look tacky on your application, but it's just a thought. It's supposed to reflect better than 90% of radiant heat or something like that.

yea i had my dp heat wrapped until it tore it apart and i spent 450 on a custom 3inch dp from a muffler shop. They did an awsome job, but they said that heat wrap will eat it apart in due time cause it traps moisture in.

Yeah, there was a discussion about that a while back. I'm thinking about taking the heat wrap off in favor of having stuff coated. It's not too much and I've got a local shop that can do it
