91680, urgent help needed, way too rich at any condition
Posted by willmayo, Nov-30-05 08:55 AM
i just drove from school to work (~100 miles) the entire time i was runnin a ~9.3 afr. which obviously is WAY too rich. Normally at a cruise it'll hang out around 14.5, and under boost it'll shoot down to 9.7 and move its way up to about 11.7.

WHY THE HELL DID I USE HALF A TANK OF GAS GOING LESS THAN 100 MILES?!?!!

setup is as follows, bosch 440 injectors, sfmu, all -6 aluminum hard lines feed/return. stainless from rail to sfmu. i dont get it, this is going to kill my pocket.

plus it runs like shit, the whole ride on the freeway i had to boost it in 5th gear just so it wouldn't buck like a pull.

start with the basics, whats your fuel pressure at idle and while driving/cruising?

also, if you use the ML you might wanna clean it out and replace the filter element and even make sure the filter didnt pop out, and test the voltage going to your MAP sensor, that could be taking a dump on you as well.

idle fp is at ~18psi. my missing link doesnt have a filter like a lot do. its pretty much a solid piece of aluminum.

it almost seems like the ecu thinks im on the gas all the time, i dont have my datalogger to verify either. damnit.

NOTE TO DEREK (ETX): WE NEED TO PUT IN THE MS ASAP lol

possibly a MAP sensor problem. check the voltage to your MAP sensor.

try cleaning the inside of your ML too...

I'm pry way off, but try checking your injectors, maybe one of them is staying open. Wouldn't hurt to check I guess, got nothing to lose.

Good luck

i had the same problem a couple months ago . turned out to be the missing link . not only did the the filter pop out but there was a little piece of clear plastic in the ml that broke . i would check that .

removed my o2 sensors today. (wb and nb)... both of which were COVERED in soot or whatever. cleaned them up as good as i could and re-installed....

voila! it works again... damn o2 sensors... i still can't get a stable afr under boost for shit. if the damn db37 cable i ordered 2 weeks ago would just show up i could get the ms goin.

thanks to all who contributed
