does the placment of the air filter matter? ive heard of people putting theres right on the turbo but mine dont fit it hits the fan housing? also mine dont fit going straight out either, i had to mount mine out and down towards the lower rad hose??? i would guess its fine but i want a few opinions thanks joe

Its really up to you, mine hit my fan when I mounted it straight off the turbo, but I love how that looks, so I just used a hacksaw and notched the one fan support to fit the filter and now its fine. A lot of the kits put it much further to the driver's side, and the guys who have made their own cold air intakes for their turbos put theres basically right where you described. The only thing I know, is that the closer your filter is to the compressor, the louder the turbo :D

I'll just throw in my two cents....
The worst thing that can happen is that intake sucking up water (especially when the turbo is really sucking the air in). Make sure the placement of your filter/intake won't do that. IE..as low to the ground as possible.
