91592, msd and turbo timer
Posted by baxsom, Nov-23-05 12:11 PM
i found an old thread about installing a msd with a turbo timer but no one ever answered it so i am asking the same question. i have a greddy TT and a msd in the mail. me and a buddy (technically him since my arm is broke) are going to try to get it in this weekend and was wondering if i needed to get the +12 from the timer

thanks

ok maybe i am an idiot but i have been going over the wiring diagram and i am not sure which wire is for the 12v switched.

there is the heavy red that goes to the battery
and on the actual harness a small red wire. at the plug end of the harness which connects to the dis2 there is a butt connector which attaches to the tach adapter.
the other end of the harness has 2 red wires which gets hooked together and into the ecu harness.

is this the same red wire that needs to get hooked to a switched 12v source. my assumption is that the + side from the ecu provides the 12v switched that the unit needs. this would answer my question about the timer as well because now the timer keeps the ignition on and the 12v from the ecu hot so it shouldnt be any different with the msd right?

i cant believe such a simple install is stumping me

switched power for the MSD is the coil+ wire. Shouldn't make any difference if you're using a TT or not.
