915, I forgot to post about the cams! Posted by Armond30, Jan-12-01 03:44 PM
I talked to Dave down at Crane the other day. They have really been on the ball about getting these cams corrected. They should have the turbo spec cams done in about 2 weeks! I will get the first set from them, and then my motor will be somewhat complete! I now have 2 weeks to get my car somwhat situated hehehe. I better get on the ball :)
Have fun!

would the cams be differnt for a nitroused motor than the regular NA cams? i will be pissed if i get these Crowers and then have problems with them with nitrous down the line. (i want to get it next after the cams/gears and a header).

There are two theories to nitrous cams 1) They should be what works best for NA because thats whats you run 95% of the time and B)nitrous works better with less overlap (or vise versa) then NA so nitrous cams should be that way. I wouldn't worry about theory #2 because with cam gears you can increase/decrease overlap at will. Trial and error. Personally I'd go with whatever works best normally aspirated because the last thing you want is a cam that only works good while sqeezing. At http://howellautomotive.com they dont show overlap specs but the street cams have slightly less lift and duration then the nitrous street cams. I dont think nitrous is that picky (unlike a turbo your not trying to maintain/hold boost your just pissing it in there). You can always call crane to get answers. I here they are willing and helpful with info on 420A cams.
