With everything I have learned on 2gnt about my car and how to put a turbo system on, this is one thing that I never knew. I don't recall ever reading anything about it on this site and was thinking it might be a good tip to put somewhere easy to find on this site for everyone interested in installing their own turbo kit

I never knew this and until reading it I could not for the life of me figure out why my BOV always fluttered. As soon as I changed where the Vac line for my BOV was run to (about 2 hours ago) the problem was fixed. If someone were to run the line for their wastegate or fmu/sfmu to this port, I think it could possibly end badly (run crazy fp's or overboost, in my case i could very well have damaged the turbo) and yet it is one of the simplest things to avoid.

this is pretty basic knowledge that you dont use the emissions service port as a source for vacuum. BTW, i despise links to other sites where i have to go and read. If you post info about a vacuum source and your info is in a link, what happenes if the link doesnt work in years to come? In addition to that if i were to search for vacuum sources to "t" off of, i would not search "to the MODS." All info in this site originates from these posts; therefore, if you wish to post some useful info, create a post, a good title and in the actual post you can comment on your intentions and the info you wish to make available. If you wish to go as far as create a write-up, that too can be placed on the main site. in the MODS section. I would advise you to search there, there is a lot of useful info there. Do not book mark any write-ups there since i am working on re-organizing there.

I just read that post over there and I never knew this either. I have searched a lot on this site for vaccum ports and have never seen this stated. Luckily I just had my bov off of that too and not something else.

^sorry didn't think about how useless the title would be to someone searching, also figured it wasn't exactly write-up worthy since its such a tiny bit of info but i just thought it was important enough for people who don't know this to have it somewhere available, wasn't sure how to go about that aside from addressing the mods

Well you could put together a writeup for soemthing like making your own vacuum distribution point ect. use some imagination to make it a writeup. Not a bad idea if you think about it, we need more writeups. or just make a post that follows the lines of a writeup but not completely in depth so that later others can search it.

Your BOV should always have its OWN line directly to a port on the intake manifold. No tees anywhere. Bonus points for silicone hose, and for a line that uses the shortest route possible.

I use the center manifold vacuum port because its slightly bigger.

that's why i originally used the port that was already there in the line it was bigger than the other lines so it seemed like a good idea, but now i do have it off of the center port on the manifold
