Yes. Xylene is an aromatic hydrocarbon which makes up about 10-15% of gasoline. I Have used it and toluene in the silvia with awesome results.
The ecu is used to 102 octane from japan so it makes a huge difference by just adding the xylene cause it bumps the ecu into high boost maps and I can run 12-14 psi.
On the talon you actually have to turn up the boost to really take advantage of the higher octane. It doesn't just make more power but it helps keep detonation at bay while running a few xtra psi.

I am not sure what you pay for race gas but 20.00 for 5 gal is high in IL. race gas here is 3.90/gal and its pretty stable. I dont havr to worry about it blowing up in my garage.

yep Xylene fan right here!!! :thumbsup good stuff...i used it on my eclipse and i boosted 25psi all day with no problems. my EGT's were ok, till my clutch started slipping which was 4th gear, 6500RPM 1500-1550F. no knock, good fuel pressure, if i remember i had my a/f tuned to 11.7:1 and it stayed there. after that i compared it to premium, and my EGT's would get worse, everything else was borderline. i did the 1/4 tank/xylene mixture which if i remember it bumps it to 102 octane.

Just as a side note, (I was a chemistry major and now a chemistry teacher), xylene and toluene are indeed aromatic hydrocarbons, and actually, so is benzene (they're very similar structurally). They are ALL very carcinogenic (then again, gas isn't the friendliest either), so if you use them, try your darndest to keep them off your skin. You'll thank yourself in 20 years....

hahahaha!!!! Oh yeah, I forgot. If you're in California, you'll get cancer. Cross over into Nevada? you're fine :):)
