Okay wow I have little issues with my car. I was losing a lot of coolant for about two weeks, where I kept filling up coolant all the way up twice. I was afraid it was the headgasket failing but now I can heave a sigh of relief for a .99 part replacement from autozone. I was wondering if anyone thinks the rubber line failiure is due to the heat of the turbo, or was it just the pressure? I've recently changed the radiator cap and the autozone guys got the part for an eclipse gs 95-99, so I hope that it is the right pressure cap. Do you all think I should go with s/s lines for that small section and would that fix the heat and pressure issues?

Also, what is 3/4 in converted to AN?

probably just a freak thing with your line. i haven't heard of that happening from turbo heat or pressure. just one'a them things...

I've gotta nasty exhaust manifold leak that made that short hose bulge out & blow up like a balloon really bad. I replaced w/ normal coolant hose from AutoZone & put DEI heat hose around the metal part to the 'Y' (~$13, very nice & snug). SOooooooooooooooo, based on my limited but growing experience w/ heat from turbos... I'd have to say it's definately a heat issue.

Just don't see how it could be by pressure,

You can replace that line... 3/4 in AN is about -10 I think, I read a post by someone else about replacing that line. You need a -10 flare tool, nuts and sleeves for the pipe, and then you can put it all together... his explanation made more sense, it is for the coolant lines to a turbo but it is the same concept

No AN fittings for me. It's way too expensive. I was thinking of just buying s/s hoses and the sizes are in AN.

Does anyone think that S/S lines will be enough protection from heat?

I would not recomend using hose clamps on ss braided hose. If you use an hose you must use an fittings. Just rplace it with a rubber piece.
