I know you shouldnt let your egts get above 1600 but when your racing when should you let of the gas? Sometimes my egts hit 1500 around 4500-5000 rpms, is it safe to keep going till 7000rpms before I shift? Just wondering what all of you guys are seeing egt wise when your pushing it.

your asking the wrong question... sort of. most power flattens out around 6200-6500 rpms.(i suppose that can vary widely depending on set-ups, so...)my best HP always peaked around 6500. you need to not let your EGT's get to 1600 if you can help it regardless of rpms...let off when it gets close to 1575.
