Is this what I need to solder inline for my missing rear O2 sensor?
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&product%5Fid=271-1321

Unfortunately the link/writeup on the Neon Forums is dead, so I just need to make sure... not quite sure of the wire, never had to mess w/ O2 sensor before.

Thanx!

i made a device that i found by searching on here. i forget the exact resistances and stuff but it involves a small capacitor and two resistors , its always worked and i never got a CEL . the one resistor gets incredibly hot though. but its supposed to . search for like " rear O2 bypass" or something on here. u will find it.

Yeah, when I had the resistors inline one get so hot it melted the plastic bag I had it in. So now I just have the compacitor and tiny resistor for the signal, and ignored the heater circuit (just cut the wires), and I get no check engine lights. I guess the 95 models don't give a shit about the heater circuit unless it's shorted.

ya it gets real hot. i tried to ignore heater but 97 throws a code for it oh well. it works .

Well I've searched & searched on a variety of things, but can't seem to find any info... (found your old post here: http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=8&topic_id=81632&mode=full ). Unless someone knows, gonna be stuck reading countless pages under a blank "O2" search :(

Anyone have a link, any idea?

You use this resistor: http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F011%5F002%5F014%5F001&product%5Fid=271%2D1356

It's a 1/4 Watt 1 MegaOhm resistor. And you solder it inline with the black wire for your rear o2 sensor.

Thanx Jason, much appreciated! I am really interested in the other/better way of doing it tho, anyone have any info on this?

did a search for "resistor mod":

I did it with just the one resistor and didn't have a single problem with it. I had it that way for over 2 years before I sold the car.

Yeah Cougar, I got that already... was asking about the alternative way of using a capacitor & 2x resistors. Just rang a bell when you guys said it really gets hot as I'm sure it does. Anyways, I have no prob using the single resistor, just wanted to find about the other.

Any idea?

Wierd. My 99 doesn't throw an O2 CEL with a test pipe.

i cant remember where i found it but it seems like it should work. I am going to do it when i go turbo and get a test pipe.
