90577, I cant decide between these 2 turbo's. Posted by eclipse982nrRST, Oct-12-05 10:43 AM
I cannot decide which turbo I should upgrade to and need a little input on which I should go with.
Either A: A Super T70 T3/T4 with the .68a/r with 3" exhaust outlet.
OR
B: A 60-1 t3/t4 with .63a/r with 2.5" exhaust outlet.
I am running the t3/t4 e50 right now and I just want more power. Its good for what I am running, but when I go MS over winter, I am looking into 22psi and I just want a good turbo.
Now, I know both turbo's are going to spool up fast and quickly, but I just dont know which to buy.
Input please? Debate this for me. I am buying it Friday, so I wanted some input before I bought the one I was going to go with (was planning on the t70.)

Oh ya forgot to ask as well, which is better, 2.25" i/c piping or 2.5" piping because I am getting all new piping and i/c too :)
For compressor maps, here are the 2 turbo's I am looking at:
Now you tell me which I should get....

you're lookin for a nice big turbo, and yet you're eying less than $400 ebay turbos.....ruh roh
Go with a known vendor/site, and you'll get t3h quality you pay for.

I learned that lesson along time ago. Dont buy it thinking it is brand new and only $400. There are smaller turbos brand new that cost more than that. Go big, but dont go cheap. Getting more power is not cheap, that is why bigger turbos are more expensive, save your money and get a big nice turbo from a vendor that has a good reputation.

word
The polished housing looks nice, but he probably polished the housing (which costs like $30 if you do it yourself) to make the turbo seem oh so much better ,when really it is a piece of crap.

oh god please don't buy that. the turbonetics os nice but not the ss one.
Dood.
Go outside and look at your car for a second mmmkay.
....
....
You didn't skimp anywhere else?
Okay Now do you want the towtruck to come pick up your phatass car and have to tell him "uhhh....my compressor housing fell apart"
Spend A LOT more money on a turbo than that.
Please buy this.

LOL Guys, I am not buying those Turbo's off ebay. Those were the pics I was looking at of trim sizes and shit. lol
I am sending my e50 to Turbonetics and they are keeping it and I can upgrade to whatever I want for a higher cost. I just dont know what trim size and shit to uprgrade to, lol.

2 things:
1. no one said which i/c piping is going to be best, 2.25" or 2.5" ?
2. i talked to guy online who has an xspower (ss autochrome) turbo and he said he has been running it for over a year and he said he has had no probs with it and he just always turbo times it.
the only reason I am bringing this up is because I am not actually thinking of buying that turbo, lol. if i could keep my e50 and just buy that one, it would work out i guess, lol.
I talked to Dino yesterday on AIM for a brief second, he said for that price, its worth it.
Discuss.

that looks like a nice turbo... but he is selling it kinda cheap. a few people have said he sells XSpower instead of Garrett genuine parts... and the T3/T4 61mm ball bearing bit is a little unusual, I know you can get ball bearing T3/T4s from Turbonetics, but the Garrett replacement CHRA that changes a regular T3/T4 into a ball bearing turbo costs $800 plus rebuild on its own from ATPturbo.com... this is all kinds of suspicious

Its ebay, what do you expect, lol.
I think i am going to shoot for one these and just try one out. If it fails, I will still have the e50 to back it up.

Oh okay, I found a good forum while searching on here.
says in a nut shell, the bigger your inlet, the bigger piping would be best. i have a pretty big inlet on my new turbo coming, so im going with the bigger piping :)

If your looking for a cheaper turbo, why not an sc61? Sign up on the honda-tech forums and search the market-place. I believe you could pick it up for around 700
