So I will be getting my car back from the shop that is installing my turbo kit. And I have some questions. Thus far I will only be boosting 5psi non-intercooled. The fuel managment is the cartech until I get money and find someone who is selling a sfmu. The exhaust system consists of a custom 2.5" downpipe, to the stock cat and out to my 3" apexi n1. My question most importantly is, should I be scared to drive it? I want to have fun and get into boosting and really feel the difference but I don't want to blow the motor. I have an A/F gauge and Fuel pressure so I can monitor the car a little better have not yet bought an egt yet though. So what do you guys think, will i be ok to romp on the gas?

Get off your butt and get an EGT and oil press gauge. What kind of bc are you using and do you have a boost gauge....

you'll be fine, i ran your setup, for 2 years (no egt, no air/fuel, just boost guage with cartech) and i took it to the track all the time. My car has 160k and still running strong!

I'd be with the inconsistent fuel pressure. Of course if you have the in car fuel pressure gauge, I guess you can always walk out and adjust it each time you start it! Sounds fun, I know!

If you are worried, get the most needed gauges. Boost, wbo2, EGT, FP and oil pressure. A nbo2 a/f gauge is almost worthless, not completely, but its deff up there in the ranks. Keep checking your compression every now and then and if you have good oil and fuel pressure your fine. Use good oil too :)
