90554, damn, i done blew her up Posted by willmayo, Oct-11-05 04:03 PM
I finally got my 3" hahn eliminator downpipe and 3" thermal r&d exhaust on, went to go take it for a test drive and hit 10.5 psi somehow.
Went to go drive to work today and it shitting smoke out the tailipe, shitting oil out the breather filter.
I cracked a ring land (probably). so my life sucks. oh well, now i can build it stronger.... 2.2L stroker??? hahahah

What were you running boost wise before you put that stuff on just curious. Guess you freed up too much back pressure allowing you to run more boost. :shrug.
Edit: Just saw your sig, nvm.

Dude let me tell you that you have shit luck. But dont take it so harsh because I admire that you are able to actually stay sane with this. For as many transmissions and clutchs that you went through with that car its amazing you are not fed up and ready to give up on it. How do you do it? How do you stay so calm to rebuild the car all the time.

Yeah, I love your positive attitude willmayo. I usually loose it right when I brake a major component (because of the $$$), but quickly get over it once I've got my thoughts organized. However, you keep cool from the very beginning, so heart warming :), haha.

Thats how I am. My car has been through hell and back. You get pissed for a day or 2 and think you wanna get rid of it, then you just realize how much fun it is to drive the dumb fucker.
Good Luck on a rebuild. 2.2L sounds good to me :)

yea it was usually always at 8. after i was done testin out the exhaust i hit the peak button on the boost gauge and it read 0.7 which is ~10.5 psi. i didnt really think anything of it until the next day when i was like 'damn'.
When i was pulled over on the e-way waiting for my buddy to bring me oil i called my girl and was like "go to 2gnt, type in 'oil, smoke, breather'" and her response was 'i'd bet my left nut u cracked a ring land'
life sucks. i work 100 miles away too. i just have to figure how i can get forged internals like tomorrow. the motor is all ready to be pulled right now. as soon as i got it home i started rippin it apart.
ok. end rant.

I got my last set from these guys: SALES@AJCUSTOMS.COM (865)908-9699 (877)803-6511
JE pistons were around 480.00 shipped with the rings last year.
They were EXTREMELY helpful compiling a custom order for me, and they shipped it very quickly. I was quite impressed.
